This is our mainstay Belgian IPA taken to another level. Look for a more subdued hop profile with hints of vanilla sweetness.

Ferris (16067) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 5, 2015
Draft - Oak, brown sugar and a grape skin tartness. Cleanish gold with a decent beige head. Oak, orange, light resin and a light tart bitterness. Interesting.

Orange to amber pour with no head, very clear. Very light sweet flower aroma, some sour too, like ammonia but not bad. Relatively low carbonation, thin mouthfeel, bitter on the finish. Light floral hops and some astringent bitter ammonia-y background flavor, presumably from the barrel aging. Nice addition to the base IPA.

The oak aging in this one adds another layer of sourish complexity. Thick and delicious. Brown sugar sweetness.

rumproasts (5470) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 13, 2012
Amber with minimal head. Much more fruit flavor and slight sourness compared with the standard triomphe.

jatman1988 (9) - - JUN 8, 2012 does not count
Weak body, Not very "wheaty" either. nice hop profile just wish it had the malt to back it up.

hopdog (12816) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2012
On tap at the Shark’s Club in Howell. Poured a hazy golden color. Barrel aging on the subtle side. Fruity with citrus. Lighter wood with lighter vanilla.

jale (11) - Michigan, USA - MAR 29, 2012
Pours a hazy golden with two fingers of long lasting white head. Mild hop and oak aroma. Smooth hop taste upfront followed by very mild oakiness. Very drinkable.

Growler: The aroma consists of light grapefruit, vanilla, and a hint of bubblegum. It pours a transparent amber with a small white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The flavor starts with faint bubblegum and Belgian yeast. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit and some faint vanilla notes. It’s light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Travlr (25496) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 15, 2012
Draft at HopCat. Barrel ageing doesn’t help this one much. Nice vanilla aroma, but still lacks body and character. Simple not enough malt.

cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2011
On tap at brewery, pours a clear dark orange amber with a nice white head and lacing through out the entire glass, the aroma is of heavy oak with some citrus hops, really digging the aroma on this one, the flavor has a good amount of oak and vanilla with a hoppy and belgian yeast finish, not bad at all.
