Nice trade extra from flandersned-Thanks, Steve! Opaque black brown with light ringing. Nose of dark stewed prunes, burnt malts, bit of coffee, lots of chocolate, and belgian yeast notes. Taste is savory and sweet with stewed dark fruit, and bitter, slightly tart finish. Great canned stout. kaser (6312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 11, 2014

Very dark brown pour, brown head. Flavors of chocolate, roasted malt, some cool flavors of Belgian yeast, hints of dark cherries. Nice brew. Thanks JP. Mittenator (1612) - Michigan, USA - DEC 23, 2013
Draft at crunchy's. near black with a dark tan head. Malt, vanilla chocolate and slight bourbony aromas. Coffee, malty and chocolate. Super smooth. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Can sample courtesy of JPDurden24. It pours with a nice and dark body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, earthy malts, Belgian candi sugar, chocolate and then some date smelling dark fruity esters. The taste delivers Belgian candi sugar sweetness, chocolate, malt sweetened dark roasted malts, a mild level of Belgian yeasty spiciness and then some brown sugar rounding the experience out. Solid tasting Impy where the chocolate and Belgo notes are going very well together.

Can. Pours dark brown with a small, brown head that fades quickly. Aromas are chocolate fudge, clove, roast, dark fruit, and some light cherries and alcohol. Taste has a big sweet molasses taste but the dark roast and bitterness counter it well. Big cherry and dark fruit finish with some Belgian spices and yeast. Alcohol becomes noticeable when it warms. Really good flavor but I wish the alcohol was more hidden. taestee (52) - USA - DEC 19, 2013
Received in a trade. The mouthfeel is light, thin, and remarkably fizzy for a stout. Finish is wuick with a bit of coffee and dark chocolate. Aroma is pretty nonexistent. It’s okay. bierenjoyer1 (103) - Illinois, USA - DEC 16, 2013
Nice notes of malts, sweetness (candy sugar? ) but not over bearing, typical of a Belgian Stout but no big belgian yeast notes. Pours almost black with no foam. Nice and smooth with malts, coffee, some sweetness with an alcohol bite at the end. Very easy on the palate. I would definitely buy this beer again particularly if you enjoy Belgian style beers. superspak (5603) - Michigan, USA - DEC 10, 2013
16 ounce can into tulip glass; no canning date, but was released recently. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense dark brown head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, toffee, molasses, raisin, clove, pepper, light coffee, light banana, light char, and roasted/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of roasted malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, molasses, toffee, dark bread, clove, raisin, pear, light banana, light char, light pepper, and roasted/yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, molasses, toffee, dark bread, clove, raisin, light char, and roasted/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roasted malt and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian imperial stout. All around great complexity, balance, and robustness of roasted malt and moderate yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering. polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Can. Aroma has notes of chocolate malts, dark roasted grains, real chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Nice. Black in the glass with an average sized medium tan head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is very sweet and medium bitter. Palate is very full bodied and oily with soft carbonation. A really nice Impy that gets much better as it warms. Nice.
