This dark beer has deep flavors of chocolate and caramel with a slight spiciness from the use of rye malt in the mash. A great dark beer with the flair of a Belgian yeast to give it extra depth.

From can into snifter, pours opaque black with one finger light brown head, slight lacing. Nose has large amount of delicious malt, some of the rye coming through along with roasted barley, chocolate, raisins, dried banana. Medium to heavy body with medium amount of fine carbonation, roasted malt flavors from start to finish, some burnt coffee on the finish, slightly oily. The rye spiciness really lingers on the palate after a drink. Really enjoyed this one

Draft sample. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt rye aroma. Medium body with a smooth thin texture with flat carbonation. Medium dark chocolate bittersweet flavor with medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex beer.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown. Aroma is that of a standard Belgian. Taste is a little woodsy with hints of a porter. Decent beer, but not great.

Although my wife said it tasted like cigarette butts I still really liked it. Plus its that time of the month so her taste buds are off. Black color with small caramel head very soft carbonation. Chocolate and bark aroma, sweet and lightly bitter taste. Sticky texture.
