UPDATED: APR 26, 2017 This beer had a lot of carbonation on the mouth. It’s got some nice floral hops that give It a nice floral finish. Overall, I could do a session with this beer. It’s not extraordinarily complex, but it’s pleasant and the malt is nice. I say, good beer. Msdrbeat (773) - East Lansing, USA - OCT 2, 2016

With Z, pours a dark Amber color with an ephemeral beige head. Nose is tart and acidic and yeasty . Taste is a nice confluence of malt and hips, blended nicely ....complemented by a nice dark fruit flavor. Finishes on the dark fruit notes with a nice smooth finish. Can. Hazy golden/amber pour with a white head. Aroma is malty with doughy yeast notes and a touch of spice. Flavor is similar. Nice little brew. czar (8996) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 30, 2014
can. pours hazy dark amber-orange with a small off-white head, shy retention and lacing. caramel and sweetish spicy toasted nuts, brandied fruits - miscellaneous berries, some raisins - some of them rotten, peppery molasses, warming alcohol, bit of coffee berries, hint of sweetness - dark golden candi, belgian yeast. light carbonation - slightly lacking, light body - oily, grassy-spicy-earthy-peppery finish. all the elements for a dark belgian ale are present but all is pretty fainted and not very cohesive. still drinkable. Reviewed from notes. Rcvd in trade.
This was poured into a chalice.
The appearance was centered around a decent hazy golden yellow to somewhat orange/light brown color. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute and left some light lacing sticking nicely around the sides of the glass.
The smell had some nice light Belgian spices up front and let in a slight sour lemon.
The taste took the lemon and the Belgian spices to town and let in a decent citrus flavoring. It left a really dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was sharp but nothing overbearing.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Belgian pale ale worthy of having again. alliance100 (1137) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2014

draft at the pub. pours clear amber. nose is moderate to low level of belgian spice and ester characteristics with some raisiny malt notes. Flavor is similar. finish is moderately dry. good but would have liked a little stronger yeast character.
