Dedicata a coloro che hanno paura delle birre scure. Dolce, complessa, ma beverina. Il lattosio e le fave di cacao la rendono morbida e profumata. Una birra per golosi...

On tap in Roma. Strong coffee and chocolate notes in the nose with a faint spicy bitterness. Flavour is deep and rich with some tobacco smoke notes and some cocoa and coffee. Finish is well-balanced with some smokey treacle. Quite nice.

Creedence (287) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 27, 2013
330ml bottle, present from a friend. Pours a dark ruby brown with a thin bubbly head that disappears quickly. Almost absent aroma, light molasses and bready hints, no chocolate whatsoever - not great. Medium bitterness and a very light smoky sweetness, better taste than aroma. Very light hint of chocolate, more watery molasses. Way too carbonated, yet a slightly thin mouthfeel. Not a chocolate stout as far as this drinker is concerned, and not a good stout anyway. Wont be drinking this again.

330 ml bottle.
Gusher. Pours a black colour with a massive white head. Aroma is very weak with notes of chocolate and some berries. Flavour is weak with notes of roasted malts, chocolate and some bitterness. Carbonation is so high that Im out of words. Alcohol comes through. Ruined.

Bottled. Pours deep brown with a huge, beige head, that leaves a good lacing. Aroma of slightly toated malt, mild chocolate and caramel notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft CO2. Quite good. ★★★

330 ml bottle. Dark brown body, close to black with a big, creamy, good lacing beige head. Relatively mild but nice aroma from black, light roasted malt, some dry fruit and a hint of (not particular) black chocolate. Flavour is very smooth malty, light roasted, dark fruit, balanced bitterness and some chocolate towards the end. Medium plus body and a decent aftertaste in the same direction of the main flavours. Not outstanding, but a very pleasant brew.
