fajry (2325) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAY 11, 2015
Fľaša. Čierna farba, hnedá pena. Vôňa pražených sladov, kávy a prezretého ovocia, v pozadí veľa chmeľu. Chuť prezretého ovocia, jemne pražených sladov a kávy. Dlhá jemne pikantná horká dochuť, dosť veľa sladkého drievka.

thirstyrabbit (1862) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 9, 2015
Bottle. Dark body, medium tall beige head. Aroma has plenty of hops and some sweat. Feels kind of mild and green, maybe they should have used more bitter hops. Sweet dark roasty/hoppy taste with some cocoa. Medium hoppy finish but the bitterness is still kind of limp. Maybe it has started to decline due to the age but when you say your product is fit for consuming for a certain amount of months then it better will be. Drinkable but nothing really stands out. Kind of boring, to be honest.

MarcoDL (5477) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 3, 2015
Draft @ beer temple. Dark brown pour, white head. Aroma of licorice and hop. Taste is sticky, with salty licorice, salmiak, hop and little coffee. Not bad, but a bit too much licorice.

Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2015
Draught at Moeder Lambic, Fontainas. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, rich roast, stewed orange, tangerine, sherbet, parma violets, candied peel and light coffee. The taste is bitter, rich roast, earthy, toasty stuff, pine needles, coffee, tar, charred wood, pepper and cocoa with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty solid black IPA.

Piana jasno brązowa, obfita, drobno i średnio pęcherzykowa, trwała, barwa ciemno brązowa, prawie czarna, z rubinowymi refleksami, mętna. W aromacie cytrusy, żywica, czekolada, owoce tropikalne i palone ziarno. Piwo dość pełne w odbiorze, czuć żyto w zasypie, wyczuwalna słodycz w typie imperialnej IPA. Czuć i owoce typu mango, papaja i kakao, i likier czekoladowy. Goryczka średnia, likierowo-pestkowo-ziołowa. Wysycenie raczej niskie. Alkohol wyraźnie grzeje, w smaku wyczuwalny w postaci likieru. W afterteasie mango i trawiasta goryczka.

(Drinking date: 8 April 2015) The beer looks beautiful. Really black beer with a nice, creamy, beige layer of foam on it. Nice aroma of citrus, chocolate and coffee and a but of berries. Strange aroma in the background. The citrus aroma could have been more present, now the coffee/chocolate is the most present aroma. The taste is nice and bitter, fresh, coffee/chocolate-bitterness. Bitter coffee-like aftertaste, which lasts long. The hops could/should have been more present in both the aroma and the taste to make ik a real black ipa. The mouthfeel is a bit too watery. Medium carbonation. Overall, this is a good beer, but not the best black ipa. The fresh hops should have been more present, now it is more a fresh stout. Overall I enjoyed the beer though. Total score: 3.6

Florya (2027) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 15, 2015
How: Bottle Appearance; Dark brown, small to medium brown head. Aroma: chocholate, coffee, caramel, citrus, grass, pine. Palate: medium body, medium carbonation.

Kauge (2131) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 23, 2015
Bottle from Tallinna Kaubamaja (€ 4.95). BB 30.04.2015. Pours dark brown, no light getting through. Head is tan with fairly good retention and some sparse lacing. Nose… pretty nice hop aromas... pungent, grassy and resinous with minimal spiciness coming through the thick chocolaty malts and roastiness. Taste… mixture of chocolaty sweet and resiny bitter, but overall very sweet and kinda mawkish due to maybe Amarillo dominating a bit too much. Seems like the sweetness draws back later on and the bitterness accentuates. On the palate it’s smooth and soft probably thanks to rye. Dangerously quaffable - it’s somewhat watery and pretty light on the body, but the alcohol (8.2%!!) is very well hidden. Finish is on the dry side. Carbonation minimal.

P.S. - It very much resembles Panimo Hiisi’s Pläkki I just had.

CraftBeerNick (2981) - London Town, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2015
Bottle at home, 16th February 15. Black almost, or pretty damn near to. The beast has a good aroma, hops, chocolate. Taste is smooth, hops, chocolate, cocoa, grapefruit, a little citrus. Very nice BIPA
