Tap @ the Brewpub. Pours a deep red with a small off white film head. Aroma has strawberries, caramel, oak and prunes. Rather low carbonation, making the beer quite nice and oily. Flavour is great, vinious, some strawberries, sweet caramel and slight smokyness in the aftertaste. Very well rounded and very good Barley Wine. larsniclas (7194) - Billdal, SWEDEN - NOV 18, 2007

Beautiful red-amber color, thin creamy head. Light aroma, with some esthers and candy like; not so good, but characterized by the house yeast; the good side is that at the end it smells a bit like a bag of hops. Good body strength, with a quite good caramel flavor, getting sweeter, and a balancing bitterness; there is also a hint of spices; creamy, almost buttery. Nothing special, but a consistent brew.

Draught @ Brewpub. Small creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Fair lacework. Light cloudy dark amber to almost light brown color. Notes of caramel and fruit with a hint of bread. Over the palate notes of burned malt, peach and a pinch of spice. Medium bodied for an 8.5% that was again served to cold which might be the reason for not feeling the alcohol at all. The brew was soft carbonated. Moderated sweet flavor with a light hint of bitter notes. Burned lingering bitter finish.
