As Été. A heavy Belgian by style, this darkish orange brew is one of the better offerings from so-so Brewpub København. Lovely color, foam that goes ciao too soon, rather ephemeral nose of fruity Belgian and surprisingly present notes of alcohol despite the moderate 6% ABV. Still, I liked it, but would take the real deal from Belgium over this any day.

JensenTaster (1719) - DENMARK - JUL 7, 2006
(on tap)A amber color, with no head. A sweet malted nose and hints of some fruityness, but a very boring beer in turms of personality. Again, "belgian ale" is a big group and I guess you can get beers like this around there.

Tap @ Brewpub. Hazy dark amber, no head. Malty light sugarylightbodied. Fruity minerally aftertaste. Belgian? Really?

bager (2120) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - JUN 9, 2006
On tap. Light amber in colour with a small head. Slightly soapy and sweet. Hints of hops and spices. Too thin.

[Draught at Københavnske Øldage] Amber colour, no head. Sweet with notes of buckwheat and flowers. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. More easy going than interesting.

Dark brown appearance. Quite smooth and creamy. Herbal aroma. Finish is sweet with notes of yeast. An acceptalbe belgian ale.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 3, 2006
(On tap) Comes as "Brewpub Été". Slightly hazy, dark amber with a very pretty, creamy almost nitrogen-like, off-white head leaving a very handsome lacework. Good, full body, dominated by malt and a distinct, underlying sweetness. Appears to contain some sort of spice, but I cannot detect which. Pleasant, easy drinking without any real thrills. 010506

Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 3, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Muddy orange brown colour with a big tan head. Candy sugar, fruity aroma and taste. Medium body with a dry finish. A bit sweet and strange.
Earlier Rating: 4/5/2006 Total Score: 2.7
Draught. Amber colour with a big white head. Sweet caramel, spicy, grassy aroma and taste. Medium body with a sweet light dry finish.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2006 The scores goes for the first version of this beer known as 4 Non Blonde: A hazy dark orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is lightly spicy and fruity with notes of coriander, oranges, and peaches. The flavor is sweet with a good rather fresh fruityness including notes of peaches and oranges, but also rather spicy which gives it a dryness, and with a caramel note lying in the background. I also find a hint of banana, that gives me associations of a weizenbock.

The second version of this beer was called Été and had a slight twist to the recipe of the first version: A muddy brown beer (which reminds me somewhat of a Fantome beer I had once) underneath a thin beige head. The aroma is very light with hints of yeast and fruit. The flavor is very yeasty and very fruity, but also has hints of vegetables. [6/2/6/3/12]
