thomat (4169) - Gteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 7, 2011
Hazy orange with a small, off-white head. Sweet with hoppy tones. Fruit, malt and hops. Full body with a long, bitter finish.

fiulijn (21399) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 28, 2011
Draught at København Ølfestival 2010
Hazy red-amber color. The aroma, a bit malty, is prominently cheesy (Toma, hard cheese from the Western Alps). Good body; caramel flavor, a bit sweet and buttery (?), nutty, lightly smoked. Strong ending bitterness, with some roasted nuts. Earthy.

Hansen (8617) - Assentoft, DENMARK - JAN 23, 2011
Medium brown colour and murky, off-white head, fully diminishing. Served way too cold. Aroma is fruity, malty, light bread, faint smoke and tar. Heavy sweet flavor, finish heavy bitter. Dry, creamy texture. Soft carbonation.

Beer5000 (6765) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 1, 2010
Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Amber body with a small diminishing off-white head. Aroma has peaches, sweet malt and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet malty, dry fruit, citric, bitterness and warming alcohol. Quite robust barley wine.

On tap at KØ-2010. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sugar, malt, alcohol, hop. Flavour is sugar, hop, malt, alcohol, caramel. Medium to full body. OK beer.

yngwie (17261) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 11, 2010
On tap at KØ-10. It pours a hazy, almost copper-colored body and a minimal-sized off-white head. Quite hoppy nose with lots of malts. Caramel, some meat and a touch of alcohol. Quite bitter flavor with meaty, sweet, caramel maltyness to balance it, finishing bitter, alcohol warming and sweet. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. A quite pleasant barley wine, wouldn’t mind drinking more of this one. 100507

mjs (7725) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 23, 2010
(Draught at the brewpub) Poured reddish brown and clear. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma contained malts, paint thinner and alcohol. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, paint thinner, hops, saltiness and bitterness. Aftertaste contained more paint thiner and quite low bitterness.

Papsoe (25055) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2010
On tap. Hazy dark amber golden with a small off-white head. Curious notes of strawberries in the nose. Quite full-bodied, some caramel and a distinct smokiness and burned rubber. Distinct bitterness. Not overly convincing, quite rough. 070510

MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2010
A Mes rate. Draught at Brewpub København
Bright rich amber with a good beige head. Good looks. Good start. Aroma is fruit, cheese, smoke, leather and burnt toffee. Bloody brilliant. Flavour is more of the same but even better. Stunning creme brûlée sugary stuff and rich smoky malt topped of with just a delicate lick of tasty hoppage. This one really hit the spot for me. Bloody brilliant all round.
