3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pint on tap at the Oliver Square location in Edmonton pours amber in color with a small white head. Aroma is mild toasted malts and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is light malty sweetness with the cinnamon and nutmeg coming through underneath and a mild hop bitterness in the finish. A decent amber ale which is quite pleasant on the palate.
On tap at Summerside location. Pours a clear dark brown with a very small off white head. Aroma of brown sugar, dark dried fruits & caramel. Taste is caramel, dark dried fruits, molasses & brown sugar. Overall a well balanced dubbel with a lot of flavor just needs to be amped up a bit more. andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 11, 2014
Pours a fairly clear deep copper with a small off white head and a few spots of lace. Aroma is rich maltiness, toasty melanoidins, caramel, and some spices(nutmeg I think). Taste is caramel, dark fruity esters, toast, light bitterness, and spices(cinnamon and nutmeg). Not bad but fairly average. maley1 (1301) - Calgary, CANADA - JAN 4, 2014
Clear dark amber pour with small white head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and nutmeg. Taste of malts, burnt caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg. Light bodied, fizzy carbonation and a little cloying, one was enough. blankboy (7884) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 7, 2013
[Cask at ’Cask Days 2013’.] Beer #20 of the fest. As ’Winter Warmer Belgian Dubbel’, I hope it’s the same beer. Pours a murky amber-brown with a spare bubbly off-white head. Mediocre aroma of caramel malt, very light hops, some winter spices and that’s it. Flavour’s slightly better, it follows the aroma along with a bit of dark fruit. Average bodied. Overall, it’s just good.

20oz pint at Brewsters Brew Pub on 11th ave SW in Calgary, AB. Colour: Medium brown with red and orange traces and low white head. Nose: Vegetable, burnt caramel, tough of fresh yeast. Taste: Medium sweet, medium bitter, medium sour. Lots of body all around in this on but fails to balance. Got pulled in way to many directions. Big sweet up front then a citrusy bitterness in the middle and more a citrusy sourness in the end.
