3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium amber with sticky lace - powerfully, fresh cascade hop aroma - this carries over to the flavor as well - quite dry, with a really nice, tongue-tickling cascade punch - light caramel malt makes its presence known, but there is more of a dry, grainy, biscuity malt character to it - I’d have to agree with Eugene; due to the hop presence and medium body, I’d call this an IPA, and quite a good one at that.
Stopped at this nice little brewpub in long island. Unable to get good tasting notes because had to catch the ferry. Staff was very nice and the beers was enjoyable. Very nice food too. Would like to stop back sometime and get proper rating but numerical score will have to do now for the flight we got. dogfish120love (1364) - Westfield, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Pours a clear medium to light orange with little lacing. Noted of grapefruit and a faint hint of pine. Slightly stale hops. fsbw21086 (481) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Taste like an ok IPA. Surprisingly medium mouthfeel but hoppy finish. Nothing extraodinary kinda of one note but not bad. Would rave about it though. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - MAY 24, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a hazy amber with a thin linen white head that lasted through the first two or three sips and left very little lace. Surprisingly light aroma of Cascade hops. The flavor is decidedly hoppy with lots of Cascade hops. There is a trace of malt present, but that’s about it. Bitter hoppy finish. A bit harsh and very one-dimensional. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - MAR 13, 2009
Tap at the brewery. Poured a dark amber with a thin white head. This had a light hop nose. The flavor was not light though, and I was pleasantly surprised. This was the non sweet floral hops, more of the down and dirty variety, but very tasty with a solid malt base that created some nice balance. This is a solid beer, wit a nice bitter finish, not too strong, and not too long, but a nice lingering flavor. A real nice surprise.

nice cascade hop aroma and flavor with some malts well blended with a nice bitter ending LilBeerDoctor (4193) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2009 Reviewed on 8/9/08. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of light citrus and bitter hops. Flavor is dominated by the bitter hops with no real malt backbone. Definitely an IPA, not an APA. But in any case, not one I’ll be revisiting, like, ever. 5/4/4/2/9 (2.4/5)
Rerate 1/31/09: I guess I’ll have to eat my words. Went back to BrickHouse and tried this again. I don’t know why it was so different, but it was. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops. Flavor of a bitter hoppy finish with tropical fruits in the body. Nicely hopped. Palate is slightly harsh, but it’s easy drinking nonetheless. I really enjoyed this one!

On tap at the brewpub. Aroma of some malt but mostly floral-ish hops. Flavor just a barrel of bitter hops and water. Yuck. MaliMisho (215) - East Meadow, New York, USA - FEB 8, 2008
Good beer. It was very hopy, I would have thought it was an IPA, but either way it was very good. Chapel (468) - Levittown, New York, USA - JUL 31, 2007
My notes for the night about this one simply read ’HOPS!’ I never write exclamation points. This beer smells and tastes of hops. It even kind of looks and feels like you would expect hops to. Everything about this beer is hops, which can make it a little overpowering. If you are going to be at the Brick House save this for the end of your night of tasting because its flavor will stay with you for a while.
