2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Much better than the big name competition. You know what I’m talking about.
Not going to bother with a fancy review here. The difference between this and BLL, this tastes like beer with some lime instead of a lime-ade beverage.
Kinda yummy, wouldn’t dink too often.

Aroma soapy lime with white sugar. Its evil and I like it. 5+
Appearance golden colour with honey touch ,lighter fizzy white top.
Flavor and Palate : Think bodied that is noticeable especially on sides. Bitter , raw lime taste that is quiet refreshing. It is simply lime lighter ale with out any gimmicks. Soda radler like.
Originally rated September 2009. First off, this one does not say "light" in the title. I was really hoping for the normal Red Baron with a twist of lime (and its full 5% ABV). But no, just a light version of it at 4% ABV. Another brewer that jumps on the light lime bandwagon this summer. Weird thing is that they all come out late in the summer. Anyways, pours a light yellow colour with very subtle haze. The head is white, fluffy, goes down averagely and creates decent lacing. The smell of lime juice is definitely present and the mouthfeel is watery. Refreshing taste of lime juice and water, followed by the corn in the aftertaste. Not much here, but a summer light swiller. yarry (528) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 3, 2010
341 ml bottle, 4% a/v
Pours a very carbonated light straw color with a fast dissapating white head. Average at best. Aroma is lime, metallic, and thats about it. Smells like a jolly rancher. The taste is generic with a chemical lime taste, but just a hint of it. The palate is incredibly watery. This is a good beer for mowing the lawn, or maybe the beach but thats about it. Simply put if you want a lime beer just spend between 3-5$ more and get bud light lime, this one has a weak lime flavour and a watery beer taste HogTownHarry (6622) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - AUG 10, 2010
From February 2010 tasting with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. 341ml bottle shared by gregclow. Very, very pale yellow with no head at all (2-). Sugary fake lime aroma, at least it’s a faint ugly bouquet. Taste of paper, lime cordial and sugar - watery, fizzy, harsh and unpleasantly sugary from the first taste to the annoyingly long cloying linger - suffered in comparison to the Moosehead Lime, but let’s be real, they both suck and should be avoided.

341 mL Bottle. Clear straw body with an instant-dissipating fizzy head leaving it looking more like ginger ale than beer. Aroma of corn and hay with an astringent accent of freshly cut limes. For flavor, a limey sweetness does make up a bit for the watery whatever that I can barely distinguish as beer. I do give this one a measure of credit for the lime component tasting real and for the purpose of a hot summer drink, it doesn’t feel too bad in the mouth. The finish is a clean albeit subdued version of freshly squeezed lime juice. Brownie points for the real lime that’s in it but a change of colours fails to impress over the original Red Baron I shot down in an earlier beer assay. blankboy (7662) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 8, 2010
Bottle [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, jerc & mabel -- c/o GregClow. Pours a very pale gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma of light lime and...not much else really. Watery flavour of pretty much nothing -- some grain and lime, that’s it. Light bodied. Boring as hell, more of a cooler then a beer. garthicus (2926) - Dublin, IRELAND - JAN 2, 2010
With thanks I guess to GregClow on his continued evil plan to force us to drink lime beers. Appearance: Very light yellow/straw with a small white head yet quite a bit of visible carbonation. Aroma, quite like real lime actually, unlike some of the synthetic shite we’ve seen in the past. With a dose of grass there too. Flavour: Corn, lime. To paraphrase what GregClow says below: it’s a cooler or refresher - just not a beer. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 26, 2009
Bottle Highly carbonated golden body with a thick, creamy head that fades to nothing very quickly. Pleased to find the aroma has a very natural lime essence, with a mild malt graininess hanging around the edge. Body is crisp and clean, and the flavour features natural tasting lime with a faint hint of beer lurking in the background. This is a perfectly acceptable refresher, just not much of a beer. This light beer poured a crystal clear, light yellow colour with a big, fast living, bright white, foamy head. To the nose there are scents of ginger ale, citrus and soda water. Slight malt scent, but if this is beer you wouldn’t know it by the smell. First swig was the most watery, thin flavoured ""Beer"" that i’ve ever had. Flavours of ginger, soda and lime result in the worst, light beer I’ve had. Flavours of ginger ale unfortunetly continue into the finsh and beyond. Muck.
