Waterloo Amber is brewed with hops from the renown Hallertau region in Bavaria. This region is known for continuously culturing their hops since the 8th century AD and is one of the oldest hop growing regions in the world. Brewed with all natural spring water and a special blend of five distinct malts – Canada two row malted barley, two types of roasted malt, rye malt and a special distiller’s malt giving this amber its perfect whiskey color. We age this beer slowly with northern white oak, delivering the same subtle caramel notes and spicy aromas that are often found in many fine whiskeys allowing this premium brew to remain perfectly balanced from beginning to end.

Nice looking beer, caramel colour with a well retained tan head. Aroma is a little malty with some nice caramel notes. Taste is not pleasant, metallic. Palate is ok, a little light. Not a good beer.

Can. Pours amber with a thick head. Fruity nose with a metallic note. Lots of carbonation. Taste follows the nose. Not a pleasant beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Canned sample from mlcc. Kind of boozy tasting . Nice malt flavour. Less hops than I like

473mL Can. Copper amber pour with an unending foam (probably due to the tallboy can) Aroma is earthy, sweet malts and grains. Low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Taste is fairly subdued maltiness with an earthy hoppy kick that dries out the finish with a bitter note

simonblaine (576) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 23, 2013
Poured from can into solo cup, but it was all there was. Amber colour, frothy head, aromas of caramel, straw, flavours of barley, roasted malt. It was ok v ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

Can, no BBD so I’m not sure of freshness. Light amber or deep golden, depending on your viewpoint. Aroma is sweet grains, much like a typical Canadian lager. The flavours here are much the same: sweet grains, maybe awhiff of ripe berry fruit, but that is swept away by an annoying metallic note in the finish. Disappointing.

italarican (1550) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Can. Clear dark golden pour, medium off white head. Mild aroma with soft biscuit and caramel notes. Mild caramel presence with graininess and slight diacetyl.Thin, crisp body with soft caramel and buttery finish. Slight grassy hops presence, but this is surprisngly malt heavy... heavy being a relative term, of course.

blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 30, 2013
Can [473ml]. Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma of diacetyl, caramel malt, grassy hops, toffee and grain. Sweet flavour of honey, caramel malt, grain, some alcohol and a light, dry, bitter finish. Average bodied. Not really digging this at all, too sweet and a bit of a mess. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
