Waterloo Amber is brewed with hops from the renown Hallertau region in Bavaria. This region is known for continuously culturing their hops since the 8th century AD and is one of the oldest hop growing regions in the world. Brewed with all natural spring water and a special blend of five distinct malts – Canada two row malted barley, two types of roasted malt, rye malt and a special distiller’s malt giving this amber its perfect whiskey color. We age this beer slowly with northern white oak, delivering the same subtle caramel notes and spicy aromas that are often found in many fine whiskeys allowing this premium brew to remain perfectly balanced from beginning to end.

Dark gold in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are of heavy sweet malts, booze, and caramel. More sticky sweet malt in the mouth, along with berry fruit caramels, and whole wheat bread dough. Heavy bodied with a long finish in spite of the carbonation level. Seems like a simplistic overly sweet oktoberfest to me.

473ml can. Sweet caramel and toffee aroma. Pours light bronze in colour with virtually no head and moderate carbonation. Sweet caramel malt flavour with some spice notes. Medium body. Sweet finish.

Fantastic amber - smooth taste without indication of the high alcohol content. Highly recommend!

473 mL can. Clear amber pour, thin white head that disappears shortly after pouring. Caramel aroma, hints of fruit. Taste is cereal and caramel malt. Medium body and carb.

473 ml can. Pours an amber colour with a medium white head. Average but will be quickly forgotten.

Boutip (6628) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 20, 2014
Can: Poured a clear light brown color ale with medium size foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of unrefined grainy malt notes is not very pleasant. Taste is also dominated by unrefined granny notes with light dry hops notes barely noticeable. Body is light with OK carbonation. Quite bad with low drinkability level.

(Rating #5618)

Can. Clear amber pour with a very small head. Sweet malty aromas of apples and caramel. Flavour has tons of caramel with light fruit notes. Fuller mouthfeel than expected. Not bad, but very one-dimensional.
