Waterloo Amber is brewed with hops from the renown Hallertau region in Bavaria. This region is known for continuously culturing their hops since the 8th century AD and is one of the oldest hop growing regions in the world. Brewed with all natural spring water and a special blend of five distinct malts – Canada two row malted barley, two types of roasted malt, rye malt and a special distiller’s malt giving this amber its perfect whiskey color. We age this beer slowly with northern white oak, delivering the same subtle caramel notes and spicy aromas that are often found in many fine whiskeys allowing this premium brew to remain perfectly balanced from beginning to end.

2012-04-04. Hazy orange amber body, large off-white head fades a bit. Modest aroma, sweet caramel, light alcohol and modest cereal character to the grains. Flavour is similar, sweet sugars and caramel touches, dry bitterness in the finish has a light grainy character. Average palate. It feels like a sweet Belgian crossed with a strong European lager. The alcohol is not overly strong but is a bit distracting somehow. Reminds me of another beer that I can’t place. Okay. Can from the LCBO

Can, no BBD so I’m not sure of freshness. Light amber or deep golden, depending on your viewpoint. Aroma is sweet grains, much like a typical Canadian lager. The flavours here are much the same: sweet grains, maybe awhiff of ripe berry fruit, but that is swept away by an annoying metallic note in the finish. Disappointing.

Pale amber pour with a tight sticky white head. The aroma is pretty sweet. Lots of fresh Munich toastiness along with some warming ethanol as well. There is a little bit of light plumminess that isn’t typical for this style. Softly chewy with a touch of light sweetness. Nice - if a little strong. There’s a bit of soft almost estery flavour, but it’s not entirely lagery

Not bad, not super strong on the taste or anything but not bad. Decent touch of faint caramel.

czar (9338) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 29, 2012
pours relatively clear pale golden orange with a nice white head, good retention, some lacing. some toastiness and relatively dry caramel, fresh cereals and oranges, grassy-peppery hops, warming alcohol, hint of sweetness. average carbonation - prickly, medium body, decent grassy-citrusy finish. ok.

[4368-20120404] 473mL can. Maple caramel sweet malt aroma. Hazy, dark orange brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Bitter lemon zest toasted cardboard flavour has a lingering light sweet maple note. Medium body. Not for me. (6/4/6/3/10) 2.9

(Rating #5618)

Can [473ml]. Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma of diacetyl, caramel malt, grassy hops, toffee and grain. Sweet flavour of honey, caramel malt, grain, some alcohol and a light, dry, bitter finish. Average bodied. Not really digging this at all, too sweet and a bit of a mess. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can 473 ml
Aroma slight tartness, dusty malts with some alcohol warmth.
Appearance clear amber with visible frisky carbonation. Medium light top. 3-.
Flavor and Palate : malty front , medium bodied. Low hop elements, flat mid. Some alcoholic notes ending. Forgettable.

Boutip (6486) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 20, 2014
Can: Poured a clear light brown color ale with medium size foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of unrefined grainy malt notes is not very pleasant. Taste is also dominated by unrefined granny notes with light dry hops notes barely noticeable. Body is light with OK carbonation. Quite bad with low drinkability level.
