Can I just say toast and caramel and park my rating here? Dark pour, large head. Easy drinking and clean, slightly bready, chestnut, caramel, toasted malt. Lighter for the style. fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 30, 2015
Tasting at Ferris’, canbiir (1534) - Berlin, - DEC 29, 2015
Dark chestnut color, clean, with small head. Lean, smooth, not too dry, with mild caramel aroma and flavor, the bitterness is a bit on the low side.
Clean, but somehow bland, like most beers in the style.
Can - Transferring old data. An interesting beer with notes of roasted malt and chocolate. Ferris (16270) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 9, 2015
Can - Dark malts and some nice toffee. Clear brown with a decent light brown head. Toast and some caramel notes rondphoto (4489) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - NOV 26, 2015
bottle @ The Andersons / Columbus OH --- Opaque brown/black color, thin ivory head cover, stripes of lace. Taste is watery caramel malt that is run over by crisp carbonation on the swallow, moving from there to light bittering to finish. Not a lot to it.

Rich dark amber in color that has a thick frothy head that never completely diminishes. Has a light hoppy scent with a hint of spiced malt. Taste is a medium bitter hop with a light malty finish. Goes down very light for a dark beer. Tranquillity (2481) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 23, 2015
Can. Brown body, opaque, with a medium light brown head. The aroma is licorice, with a nice ale hop touch. The taste is strong of licorice, salty with a full malt finish. Very pleasant! shrubber85 (11570) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - OCT 18, 2015
Bottle. Chocolate syrup, malt, and herbal hay aroma. Dark brown with large light tan head. Sweet chocolate, roasted barley, and mildly bitter hay and ash flavor. Good body. Kind of dark for a Vienna - seems more like a dunkel in both appearance and flavor. Patrickctenchi (6690) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - SEP 17, 2015
Pours dark, ruby-lit brown/black with a frothy beige head.
Dark, roasty caramel, chocolate aroma.
Flavour is roasted and rich....slightly black-pepper accented caramel malt..chocolate, cola.....maybe even a slight whiff of smokiness.
Light, but not watered-down...
Curious about the low ratings on this....I thought it was a bit dark for the style, but pretty tasty. luttonm (6634) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 7, 2015
Can in Toronto. Pretty typical dark lager (per ’schwarz’ over in SEE), lighter brown-black body, clear. Light sipper, clean with some caramel and roast. Ok.
