COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Looks dark, tastes light. It’s Ontario’s favourite dark lager. A dark beer that is slowly brewed with Canadian grown malted barley, specialty coloured malts, imported hops and pure cultured brewers yeast. Dark lagers are enjoyed all year long, and they’re not as filling as ales. Waterloo Dark will cut some of the heaviness in sauce-based meat dishes. Waterloo Dark is an equally perfect beer to go with appetizers suitable for watching sports games, or used as an actual ingredient when preparing a meal. Experience what this great dark "light tasting" lager has to offer and why it has won multiple awards at the World Cup of Beer, Canadian Brewing Awards, Ontario Brewing Awards and the Monde Selection International Institute For Quality Selections.

Dark ruby colour, thin head. Aroma is thin, some roast and chocolate. Taste is also thin, almost like the roast flavours are artificial and were added after the fact.

A smooth silky flavour that is not overpowering. Waterloo Brewery has a hidden gem here.

This canned brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated body semi-opaque dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish malt hop aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of mild dough mild hops and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Black in color and not too heavily carbonated. It has the look and consistency of a cola. The head is not too heavy and dissipates quickly. A hint of roasted grain. Not very strong tasting for a dark beer. No aftertaste. It lacks a certain bite to it but enjoyable if you like a light tasting beer.

Can. Clear dark copper-amber body, medium beige head with ok retention. Aroma of caramel, grains, metallic notes, blueberry jam. Taste of grains, herbs, light nutty notes, some burned sugar. Not bad.

Appearance: Darker brown. Nearly opaque. Ring of off white foam Nose: medium roasted malts with candy sweetness. Hints of hops. Taste: Initially a little roasty and sweet. caramel and roast nuts. Watery and brief Body: Medium to lighter Parting thoughts: a fair amber lager. Discount shelf. About right.

A chocolate fudge brown with a light beige head. A floral perfumey chocolate aroma with a light body featuring roasted oats and fudgey chocolate. OK.

Pours dark brownish amber with a big beige head. Aroma is chocolate, malt and hops. Taste is a watered down version of the aroma. Not a bad beer, but was kinda disappointed with flavour.

Can I just say toast and caramel and park my rating here? Dark pour, large head. Easy drinking and clean, slightly bready, chestnut, caramel, toasted malt. Lighter for the style.

Tasting at Ferris’, can
Dark chestnut color, clean, with small head. Lean, smooth, not too dry, with mild caramel aroma and flavor, the bitterness is a bit on the low side.
Clean, but somehow bland, like most beers in the style.

Can - Transferring old data. An interesting beer with notes of roasted malt and chocolate.
