2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can from LCBO
Appearance: Very dark brown to black with ruby highlights. Creamy light tan head which doesn’t last long.
Aroma: Hints of blackcurrant or cherries, faint vanilla and coffee. Low to no hop aroma. Sweet bready malt aroma.
Flavour: Chocolate cake first, then fading to some fruitier flavours such as prunes, slight hop bitterness but balanced towards malt.
Mouthfeel: Quite smooth, no astringency, moderate to low carbonation. Leaves a slick feeling on the tongue. Finish not overly dry, slight warmth in the aftertaste with more dried dark fruits.
Overall: Not a great example of a Schwarzbier, as there wasn’t much complexity. Although it may suit better with the dunkel lager style. Not bad, and inexpensive, so good for the beer drinker on a tight budget who fancies something other than DAB!!
Nice dark smooth beer. Hint of coffee, well balanced bitterness smooth finish. Definitely worth trying.

(2271-280717) Gaelic (194) - Rotterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 2, 2017
It is Always suprising to drink a dark lager. We hardly have it in Holland. Drinkable. Nice bitters, coffee, taste disappears quite fast. beer4brent (2) - - JUL 21, 2017 does not count
A smooth silky flavour that is not overpowering. Waterloo Brewery has a hidden gem here. thedm (6309) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 21, 2017
This canned brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated body semi-opaque dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish malt hop aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of mild dough mild hops and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Black in color and not too heavily carbonated. It has the look and consistency of a cola. The head is not too heavy and dissipates quickly. A hint of roasted grain. Not very strong tasting for a dark beer. No aftertaste. It lacks a certain bite to it but enjoyable if you like a light tasting beer. bunget (1010) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2017
Can. Clear dark copper-amber body, medium beige head with ok retention. Aroma of caramel, grains, metallic notes, blueberry jam. Taste of grains, herbs, light nutty notes, some burned sugar. Not bad. Panzuriel (2333) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - MAR 11, 2017
Appearance: Darker brown. Nearly opaque. Ring of off white foam
Nose: medium roasted malts with candy sweetness. Hints of hops.
Taste: Initially a little roasty and sweet. caramel and roast nuts. Watery and brief
Body: Medium to lighter
Parting thoughts: a fair amber lager. Discount shelf. About right.

A chocolate fudge brown with a light beige head. A floral perfumey chocolate aroma with a light body featuring roasted oats and fudgey chocolate. OK. ChadPoole (478) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 20, 2016
Pours dark brownish amber with a big beige head. Aroma is chocolate, malt and hops. Taste is a watered down version of the aroma. Not a bad beer, but was kinda disappointed with flavour.
