4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Picked up at Mariano’s Fresh Market in Arlington Heights Illinois
Must be something that Mariano’s / Roundy’s is contract brewing with point brewing company.
very tasty beer light refreshing has a very soft aftertaste, easy going down.
clear in color with a nice head that fades quick.
a very nice price point for the 6 pack of beers 6.50 per six pack.
A decent, inexpensive Pils. B&B is the house brand of Mariano’s grocery store , A great alternative to Whole Foods. It’s brewed by the Stevens Point brewing company that makes along with its own Point bees a number of contract beers, the newest being Berghoff. This is an acceptable beer. Light and not filling. Not really hoppy enough for it’s style by at $7.00 a six pack it’s worth the price. Frank (4208) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2014
The grocery store I bought this at just opened so I figure it must be fresh but it tastes like its been around a while so how can I know? Oh, I dunno, maybe a date on the bottle or something... In any case, this is an example of a supposed craft brewer making a lager that is much worse than a normal, cheap American beer. It is clear yellow in color, mostly headless, sweet and lightly metallic. It smells of nutty oxidized malts and tastes like bitter soda water. This stuff isnkt the end of the world to drink or anything. I mean, I could down six of them if I was desperate but the fact of the matter is something like Budweiser or Coors just blows this out of the water for cheaper. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 25, 2013
Straw yellow with a medium white head that sticks around. Aroma is grassy and perfumed with sweet malt and semi-sour undertones. Blah and bland pils with noble hops, sweet malt, skunked grains and a clean and boring ass finish. Skyview (6076) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 5, 2013
Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Pick ’n Save in Marshfield, WI. Pours a clear golden light amber colored brew with an average sized head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing and a film top. Aroma of golden grain malt, some floral hops, a touch of lagering yeast and white bread dough. Taste is medium bodied, some extra carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, some medicinal mint hop presence and grassy hops. Finish is semi-dry, a quick sharp spicy hop bitterness, with a medicinal mint and skonk aftertaste. Possibly long shelf life presence. weiland01 (1) - - NOV 14, 2012 does not count
This is a great beer from a great 155 year old brewery. In my taste, lagers are one of the hardest beers to do really well. If you want an average lager, miller does good. If you want a fine crafted lager, this one will fit you well. I bought the whole B&B line today, and I’m looking forward to rating the others!

Bottle poured a clear yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of bread, straw, spicy hops and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, straw and spicy hops with a crisp dry finish. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up toasted grains and a pinch of honey with grass and lemony accents.. not all that interesting, but alright. The flavor found bready notes and honey at the core, with lemon zest, floral, and grassy bitterness around.. lemon zest over honey on the tasty, refreshing finish. Light-bodied and tangy on the palate.. lower carbonation.. OK feel and flow.
