hopscotch (11245) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 20, 2017
Draft… Mostly clear burnt-orange pour with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. The nose features roasty notes of dark molasses and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied with jazzy carbonation. The flavor is roasty and hints strongly at lactic acid. There’s a yogurt component here for sure. The keg is infected, but not unbearable yet. In a week, this may be nearly impossible to enjoyably drink. There are some kegging issues at Bridge Brew Works or this one keg is an anomaly. Worth noting either way, because the misplaced acidity does this Schwarzbier no favors.Panzuriel (2380) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - NOV 19, 2014
Apothecary Ale House & Cafe
On tap at the secret sandwich society in Fayetteville WVa. This beer is a nearly opaque black brown brew with a small head of white bubbles. Nose is a good medium roast coffee but also a not crisp and a hint of roasted nuts. Taste was a clean and refreshing roasted nut taste with a hint of sweetness on the finish. Body was light and fluid. Finish was just a hint of good bitters. JStax (7181) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Draft. Pours a translucent Dark ruby to black with a khaki colored head of foam. Aroma is roasty, sweet, ashy. Lighter body. Medium carbonation. Pretty good overall. BeerandBlues2 (13823) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 12, 2013

Draft at Pies & Pints Fayetteville. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a medium sized creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, mild roasty notes, dark fruits. The taste is chocolate, mild raisin and nutty notes, mild hop finish. Nicely balance, low carbonation, medium bodied and a worthy 6400th rating! johnnnniee (4408) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Pours a brownish black color with virtually no head atop it. Leaves some lace on the way down. Smells of coffee and chocolate with a pilsner malt backbone. The aroma seems a bit heavy on the coffee for the style. The flavor follows the aroma fairly well, with a flavor that seems more porter like than lager like. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sugary mouthfeel. Not a bad brew, but I’ve had better Schwatz before. Nickls (2607) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Tap. Light tan head, on a brownish amber murky hue. Light prunes, toast, nuttiness, and a slight sweetness in the aroma. Flavor follows suit, and fruity raisins dominate but not in a bad way. Lighter body with subtle carbonation. agl108 (1306) - Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 13, 2012
On draft at The Greenbrier. Poured deep mahogany with light khaki head. Mild lacing. Nutty nose. Malty, roasty, with notes of chocolate. Slightly bitter finish. Surprisingly tasty. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2012
Black, off white cover. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, possibly light dms. Taste is the same, the dms is still there it seems, but it is otherwise enjoyable.
