3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from a generous trader; shared at tasting at my house. Pours golden orange with white head. Nose and taste of white sugar cookies, lightly baked bread, yeast, lemon and orange zest. Taste is a bit muted compared to nose. Medium body.
750 ml bottle thanks to queenholly for this one. Consumed at cellar temperature. Color is an amber with a orange hue, no head. Nose is nice, apricots, tangerine and alcohol. Flavor is much of the same. Alcohol in the finish is abrupt and doesn’t linger at all. Overall it’s really not bad at all, the right amount of age can help the alcohol notes. Hazy orange smells pretty nice. Floral and lemony but medicinal with lots of burning like grain alcohol. Slight green tea taste as well. Orange and citrus come through. Abv tastes higher than 11 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 26, 2013
Bottle: Dirty caramel, moderate sudsy off-white head, little lacing. Musty nose, stale fruit such as apples and pears, minor alcohol. Sweet caramel and bready start, faint fruitiness, pale fruit. Definite Belgian mustiness, like a really aged example. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Very musty finish. Lingering stale fruitiness. This one seems like a traditional Belgian that has been aged for years. I have had this beer for about four months, so I can’t believe its that old? Interesting to say the least, for an American brewer. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 19, 2013
Pours a murky orange/amber with a medium white head...lively. Aroma has fruity notes...apricot...and a bit of honey. Flavor is sweet...apricot and spice...dries out with earthy hops/ leather...muddled. Mouthfeel is full and syrupy with a lingering finish that starts sweet and turns to bitter apricot/leather...warms. Pinball (12157) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2013
