Bottle explosion...god damn I am having bad luck tonight. Black almost stout like pour, a shit ton of foam that leaves breadcrumbs all over the sides of my glass. Aroma, very interesting Mr. Holmes, bright acidic red wine notes, oak, leather, brown sugar, raisins, reminds me more of an American sour than a Belgian quad. Taste, wowza, this is a really interesting beer, while the aroma is fairly acidic smelling, the taste at first blow delivers a burst of malty sweetness, the wine like acidic notes then follow, a little bit of after heat shows up in your throat once the dust settles. A very interesting take on a quad and one that in my humble opinion works really damn well! Timyone (15) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 11, 2014
I have a bit of a blocked nose and for some reason was smelling tomato. I enjoyed the thick mouth feel, and really got an aged complex beer taste. Worth a try Boutip (6628) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2014
Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of strong residual sugar with some vinous notes and some dry fruits notes. Taste is also a very interesting mix between some residual sugars; some brown sugar notes with some vinous notes which kind of re-balance the sweetness. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Interesting but I would be really curious to taste this beer without the red wine notes. motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 2, 2014
bottle from the great nogne o stall at braukunst live 2014. dark brown with a reddish tinge and a gentle tan head; vinous aroma hinting at red berries and a light woody funk; rich texture; subdued yeast flavours with good old aussie cab sav earthiness, plums, faint treacle sweetness. delicious and complex stuff from what must be a strong candidate for best australian brewery at the moment fletchfighters (1604) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 25, 2014

Really hard to say this was a quad as came out more like a big sour. Big explosive head, murky brown color, light tan head. Three finger height.
Nose was citrus, red wine, sourness, sultana, oak, brown sugar and dark fruits.
Taste is dominated by the barrel and the sourness of it. Lots of red wine and tannins followed by lots of sourness.
Medium carbonation, really light bodied and easy to drink. Great beer from Australia that not many know of

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2016 0,25cl pour @Braukunst Live München 02/2014. Pours a deep aubergine brown. Aromas of raisin, sweet malts. The red wine cask has a powerful imprint on tannin-dry palate, spicy Australian red and dark berry notes overpowering the roasted malt toffee or hop spice. Mild and suave blend, very easy to drink, but will hopefully gain in proper "beer character" a bit with age. // Resampled aged bottle bb12/2017. Smells like a vinous Bernardus. Cranberries, cooked stone fruit, redwine in flavour...leaves behind a bit of a furry wine tongue and carries some of its fusels. Standing by original rating, not a Top 50 Abt for me, impressive as this collab beer’s story might be... Koelschtrinker (22068) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - FEB 23, 2014
Leicht süßer Antrunk, leichte Holznoten. Dunkel herb, wenig aromatisch.
Søt fruktig smak, noe sure toner men ikke surøl... Finn (8305) - Tromsø, NORWAY - FEB 17, 2014

Dark brown pour with insane carbonation. Please watch out, when you open this one up. Bottle doesn’t say any specific serving temp, but I opened it a slight bit above 12 C. The spray almost reached the roof.
Anyway, dominant aroma of berries, almost sour-like qualities. Quite pleasant. Taste is more like a sour/coffee stout, with emphasis on the latter. A very weird mix of some coffee roast bitterness, mixed with the aforementioned berries. Works out excellent, in some weird way. Must try, pretty unique.
