25cl bottle from Vinmonopolet somewhere in Oslo. A real gusher. Wasn’t quite prepared for that. Oaky and balsamic notes is noticeable already from the mess that came out the bottle before I managed to put a glass under. The rest pours slightly messy dark brown with an off-white to light beige head. Dark malty aroma with caramel, dark dried fruits, balsamic vinegar, oak and some vinous notes. Less sweet than expected and more sour and acidic notes than expected. Surprisingly easy to drink and somehow well balanced with the high alcohol content pretty well hidden. A bit to fizzy, but certainly pleasant stuff. Zwiebel88 (637) - GERMANY - MAR 13, 2015

Sehr dunkel braune Farbe, schöne beige Schaumkrone. Geruch schokoladig, holzig, Vanille, würzig. Geschmack nach reifen Früchten, Kakao, Gewürzen, alkoholisch.
(bottle) pitch black colour with a frothy light-beige head. aroma of bretty funk, cherry stones, marzipan and dark chocolate, basically liquid black forest cake, with a touch of cornflakes, some brown sugar, banana and vanilla. flavour is mostly cherry juice and toasted malts, slightly ashy and quite sweet, with a hint of salted popcorn, dark fudge and a light-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. heavy-bodied with lively carbonation. kappldav123 (6097) - GERMANY - FEB 2, 2015
Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Stouty aroma. Starts strong malty, stouty, smoky-old, Background dry and bitter. Notes of chocolate and some lquorice. Finish warming-malty, still light sourish. Interesting beer.

Dry red wine with delicate sweet accents. Smell is incredible. Should be just a little more fill with malt body. Stuu666 (13123) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 15, 2015

Bastante buena. Imaril (40) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 4, 2015
Aroma of tangy raisins and a little burnt caramel with a hint of something a little funky. Pours thick and sludgy from the bottle with a good amount of tan foam quickly disappearing to lacing. Tastes sweet and fruity like Christmas pudding, then quickly giving way to some red wine and tannin tartness, with a hint of warm woodiness. Mouth feel is rich and thick. This is great. Was warned by the shop attendant at Barny’s that this one is a gusher and he wasn’t wrong. Pours dark murky cola brown with ruby and orange highlights and a huge persistent mocha head. Red wine is very obvious in the aroma, along with stewed dark fruits, caramel and some apple cider vinegar astringency too. Incredible taste - strong red wine, port wine and oak notes, muscovado sugar, prunes, caramel, hazelnut, soy and a light apple cider vinegar. The initial sweetness is nicely balanced by the light acidic astringency and dryness from the oak in the finish. Nice and full bodied. Best Aussie beer I’ve had, simple as that.
