330 ml bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Hazy golden colour, huge white head. Lovely fruity and mildly peppery aroma of saison yeast and hops. The flavour is medium sweet, distinctly spicy / peppery and hoppy with some fruity notes. High drinkability, very enjoyable.

330ml bottle

Pours hazy yellowish with a small white head. Aroma of spices, fruits, yeast, citrus and lemon. Taste is yeasty, spicy and ripe fruity with some lemon and citrus. Finish is sweetish, spicy and yeasty with some stuffy notes and lemon. Okay.

Bottle. Aroma is green onion, herbs, light grapefruit. Notes of grass.

This is not normally a style that suites me well because it is a oxymoron of a style "hoppy" saison. But I’ m happy that this actually works for a change. The yeast is alive and well and gives a mile spicy note. The hops show herbal and grassy notes that turns dry in texture. Body is medium with pale malts and fruit from either the yeast or hops, not sure what element gives that element. Damn, overall pretty tasty. I may not ever get to try the other version of this brew but no matter, I enjoyed this well enough.

Bottle at Schouskjelleren. Splendid saison aroma. Fruity, yet dry. The dryness is perhaps a bit overwhelming, I’d like slightly more fruit and funk. But it’s a fine beer.

Shared bottle @ Patricks. Almost clear golden body with a small, dense off-white head. Moderate strong aroma of citric fruit, blackcurrant leaves and light spicy yeast. Flavor is sweet, mild malt, fruity hops, nice bitterness and some yeast. Fine and balanced body, refreshing in aftertaste. A nice one, with a bit less aroma and flavors than the Nøgne Ø version.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($5.50): pours lightly hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, yeast, some basement funk it seems, and maybe some perfume. Taste is light and refreshing. Nice hoppy tanginess. Dry finish. Dry finish and lightly hoppy aftertaste lingers for a bit. Hoppy yet delicate. I like it.

500ml bottle pours a hazy golden color with a finger and a half of white head that settles to reveal some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and yeast. Taste is a lemony tartness with some citrus bitterness and a light fruity and malty sweetness. Medium bodied with some good carbonation lending to a nice mouth feel. A very well done saison that would make any beer connoisseur proud.

500 ml bottle bought at Spirits Crossroads. Poured a hazy straw body with a super super large foamy white head, it actually rose above my Hennepin glass by about an inch to two, gobs of lace everywhere. Aroma of funk, lemons, citrus, yeast, bubble gum, orange marmalade covered toast. Medium bodied with super soft carbonation, a dry finish and some lingering bitterness along with a hint of heat but that may be from the bitterness. Flavor of bad citrus fruits, funkiness, yeast, lemons, lemon zest, flowers, dry toast. Solid stuff here.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy/murky yellow colour with a medium to large sized white head. Smells fresh, slightly sourish, malts, herbs and spices. Reminds me of Oersoep brewery. Tastes slightly sour, malts, brett, white ipa, some herbs. Way too much carbo, medium body.

Pours deep hazy gold into a tulip. Fluffy white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Sweet bready caramel, tropical fruit and resin aromas. Crisp with hay, mango and bubblegum upfront turning dry in the lasting bitter lemon pith finish.
