2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasting from 2009.
Hazy once the yeast went in this settled a tarnished copper in colour with an abundance of carbonation. Continuously expanding head lifts a good inch out the glass and’s to be nibbled off before tasting. Predominately malty aroma; earthy, topsoil, and deeply gritty with a strange hint of rye bread and savoury fruit. Palate is malt driven, well rounded, sandy yet smooth and foamy in mouthfeel. There is a second rate, grassy hop note and subdued bitterness before a lingering grainy, malt flavour. Dusty and dry overall; lacking in esters. A simple brew! Bottle. This doesn’t really stand up to their beechworth pale, not as hoppy or as full bodied. Definitely for the non-craft market. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 3, 2014
Bottle at Precinct for Mane Liquor Quiz Night. Straight from the bottle. Nothing crazy here but a very accessible and approachable beer. A little nutty and very creamy with mild bitterness. Slightly sweet but keeps it going down easy. Not bad ShaneJ (896) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 3, 2014
UPDATED: APR 2, 2014 Bottle from Cellar Door (Oct 2013). Bottled 16-07-13. Clear golden, minimal white head, doughy/yeasty aroma, grainy/bready flavour, some mild grassy hops, low bitterness, medium sweetness. Not great but quite drinkable. MarkMaclean (48) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2013
Clear light golden beer with low gas but big soapy head. Light slightly floral aroma and taste, reminiscent of a summer / wheat beer with nice bitterness on palate. Ok but take it or leave it compared with other bottles offerings.

Tap @ the brewery. Fairly basic beer that's aims to be something to knock back cold on a hot day. There's nothing wrong with that at all and sometimes us beer nerds try and intellectualise everything we drink. No faults, just not too much flavour, but if you'd offer me this or a vb/new/extra dry etc just after I'd mowed the lawn I know which one I'd be having.

Poured (with sediment) a translucent pale golden amber colour with a three- to four-finger white foamy head that retained OK for a while but then collapsed to a thin bubble line. Poor lacing. Moderate to high carbonation. Aroma of malt and slight hops. Taste of sweet malt followed by soft hops. No noticeable bitterness. Light body. Short smooth and sweet finish Rangi (672) - NEW ZEALAND - OCT 16, 2012
This beer was a little disappointing to say the least after having the pale ale. This beer lacked everything that that beer had. Flavour, aroma, depth. Just a little to bland and unfortunatly having the pale ale before hand this one couldn’t stand up. LesArgen (360) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 16, 2012
The aroma is an intriguing mix of spice, damp earth, toffee and some floral notes. The pleasant smells of this beer belie the simplistic, somewhat strange combination of sweet malt, yeast and hops. The sudsy palate gives way to a hoppy aftertaste which is bitter and metallic, but not at all fruity. Bif (2242) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Bottle- Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a decent head that fades to lacing. Mild aroma of citrus with grain and a bit herbal. Taste is also mild with a bit of hop crispness, just a bit of malt sweetness and grain. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly light body, crzisp and quite smooth and clean. Just not a lot of character. Easy drinker, but pretty ordinary.
