Megachile Pluto is the worlds largest bee species; big, fat and fuzzy; just like this beer. A Braggot is a beer and mead hybrid that is made with large amounts of honey. Beechworth Honey provided us with Red Stringy Bark honey to create this Braggot, which has been hopped, spiced and then fermented with a Belgian Trappist yeast strain. This winter warmer is bound to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of honey, malt, and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of spices, malt, caramel, and honey, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Cloudy brown color, with low carbonation and minimal head. The aroma is sweet and a bit fruity, nice; light alcohol too. The body has an average strength; the flavor is more beery that else; caramel flavor, with moderate residual sweetness, and a herbal and vegetable touch; no apparent honey. Correct bitterness, for a beer. I cant see the purpose.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. The nose is roasted with burned dark caramel and a little yeast. Pretty solid body, roast, nuts and dark fruits with only a vague underlying honey note. Very beery and pleasant. 080411

330ml bottle. Looks like a glass of weak tea, murky brown colour with barely no head. Honey, honey and more honey in the aroma. Sweet and pleasant. Very sweet flavour and you can easily detect the high alcohol content. Nice one to sit and sip.

Bottle. Pours dark brown, some haze, with a small rocky tan coloured head. Diasppears pretty quickly. Not the greatest looking beer. Aromas of sweet caramel, cinnamon and plenty of alcohol. OK. Flavours are dominated initially by the honey sweetness, then almost like a totally different beer some bitterness comes through followed by the alcohol burn. Mouthfeel is medium. OK Beer.
