Bridge Road Brewers together with gypsy brewer Mikkel Borg Bjergsø of Mikkeller created a one off brew one Friday evening of March 2012. The result is The Dark Harvest. Inspired by the timing of the collaboration, it was decided to make a dark beer, using locally grown fresh hops. Of several research hops being grown at Rostrevor Hop Garden, one variety stood out for selection and was harvested just hours before being added to this beer.

Ølen slik den fremstår i dag er et sted mellom brown ale og porter, med veldig lite bitterhet. Endel gress i smaken og generelt ganske smooth.

aroma is fruity ipa. black beer and very delicious looking head. taste is light, hard to say what’s in it. light body, dry finish. good beer but nothing special. finish is stout like and aroma is ipa, taste is neither really.

Bottle from kris wines, london. Black color, huge light brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, hops. Medium body, roasted malts, hops, some coffee. Quite basic but nice black ipa.

Opaque black beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, very light. Mild fine carbonation. Smooth light milky dark malt, no roast or bitterness, just very light. Whisper of coffee and chocolate. Mild minerals. Not much else here but the dark malt is marvellously smooth and the beer is very drinkable.

Nice beer, great aroma.ticks all the boxes for the style, dark and robust malt, lively, grassy hops. Refreshing and drinkable.

This would be my favorite brown ale. A great balance of malt and hops. Nice hop bitterness. Very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle. Pours black in colour with a thick tan head leaving some lacing and aroma of roasted malt, coffee plus grapefruit hop. Taste is initially sweetish dark malt, roasted, smokey, coffee, followed by chocolate, raisins and fruity citrus grapefruit & pine hop bitterness. Nicely smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, clean finish with some lingering chocolate notes. Well balanced, very drinkable black IPA.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Hazy black with solid, lasting head. Grapefruit, citrus, chocolate, coffee, sweet malt but well balanced bitterness. Could drink this every day.

Jado (798) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - MAY 21, 2013
Pours a really solid black with a pillowy tan head. The nose is pretty amazing with a combo of fresh and stewed fruit, pine resin, chocolate, a little smoke, some spice and coffee. The taste starts out with apple and raisin, which gives way pretty quickly to a moderate hop and coffee bitterness before pine and some light chocolate appear at the end. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Finishes relatively clean with a coffee/spice aftertaste. Awesome.

Pours totally black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, fruit, citrus and hops. Taste is light to medium sweet of fruity hops leading to a blasy hoppy finish. Great stuff!
