A dark, oozy beer with its creamy, brown head gives off a heap of flavours including coffee, liquorice, sea water, orange peel, resin, grain and dirty socks. The hops are far more prominent in the mouth before giving way to coffee, smoke and cream (squealer from Prince Wine Store). Niksko (624) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 14, 2013

Pours pitch black with brown highlights and two fingers tan head. Aroma is orange hops, coffee and a bit of funk. Nice malty toasty flavor. Coffee, fruity chocolate, mild bitterness, and just a hint of marmite throughout. Good lacing and a smooth, viscous mouth feel. Pretty good.
Pours pitch black with a lively mocha head. Nose is lots of sweet tropical fruit (pineapple, guava), some coffee, plum, raisin. Flavor is bright, juicy, citrus hop flavors, lots of coffee, some burnt toast. The finish is reminiscent of dark, bitter chocolate. Really great RichardGretton (4770) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2013
Bottle. Almost pitch black beer with a strong creamy light brown head. The aroma is very lightly roasted, but the flavour is far deeper. It is roasted and bitter with with some coffee maltiness. Overall a reasonable stout like beer.

Aroma has vanilla, nettles, fruity hops, roasted notes and coffee. Flavour is hoppy with gooseberry bush, nettles, some fruity notes, hints of ash and coffee. Foamy palate is a bit too high on CO2.

Pours dark copper-red color with a large steady head. Aroma of hoppy fruits, dark roasted malts, caramel and grass. Flavor of roasted malts, hops, citrus fruits, ash, some goose berries and grass. Very (too) high CO2, bitter and somewhat dry fruity palate with a ashy finish. Nice aroma though.
Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Yoav. Pours brown with a medium head, aroma of carambola, chocolate, roast, floral notes, flavor of carambola, passion fruit, roast and dark bread, medium bodied, nice SlackerMads (3406) - DENMARK - JAN 3, 2013
Bottle, bottled 2012-03-30. Dark brown with a small light brown head. Aroma is butterscotch, toffee, caramel, roasted malt. Taste is smooth with caramel, toffee, roasted malt. Smooth finish. Soft carbonation, creamy texture. Soft, creamy and not very hoppy for a black ipa, but as my bottle is a couple of months short of being one year old, perhaps some of the hop notes has worn off? Could use a stronger hop profile to balance the caramel, toffee, butterscotch notes. zimbo (963) - SCOTLAND - DEC 29, 2012
Thin struggling head. Certainly dark. Maybe a bity of vegetal chinotto in there too. OK at least but like many black IPAs it is a tad one dimensional. gyllenbock (9315) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 16, 2012
Clear black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of licorice, some "medicine", light notes of hops, citrus and malt. Drinkable but not that interesting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Yoav. Very dark with tan film. Fuel, roast and coffee aroma, roast wooden barrel taste. Sleek texture, delicate, full body, short finish.
