COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bridge Road Brewers together with gypsy brewer Mikkel Borg Bjergsø of Mikkeller created a one off brew one Friday evening of March 2012. The result is The Dark Harvest. Inspired by the timing of the collaboration, it was decided to make a dark beer, using locally grown fresh hops. Of several research hops being grown at Rostrevor Hop Garden, one variety stood out for selection and was harvested just hours before being added to this beer.

olio (10342) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 22, 2013
33cl bottle @ Timo A. Bottled 30.03.2012. BBE 05/2013.
Pours dark copper-red color with a large steady head. Aroma of hoppy fruits, dark roasted malts, caramel and grass. Flavor of roasted malts, hops, citrus fruits, ash, some goose berries and grass. Very (too) high CO2, bitter and somewhat dry fruity palate with a ashy finish. Nice aroma though.

marcus (10326) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 14, 2015
Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours near black with a massive tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a smooth dark molasses flavor with a nicely bitter finish. It all goes together pretty well.

gyllenbock (9289) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 16, 2012
Bottle. Clear black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of licorice, some "medicine", light notes of hops, citrus and malt. Drinkable but not that interesting.

laiti (8481) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 22, 2013
33 cl bottle @ Timo A, bottled 30.03.2012, BBE 05/2013
Aroma has vanilla, nettles, fruity hops, roasted notes and coffee. Flavour is hoppy with gooseberry bush, nettles, some fruity notes, hints of ash and coffee. Foamy palate is a bit too high on CO2.

larsga (7564) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 1, 2012
Biggish brown head. Clear deep dark red body. Roasty chocolate and coffee aroma with gooseberry and wine grape notes. Dry roasty earthy chocolate taste with gooseberry notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry roasty coffee and earth aftertaste with long lingering resin and gooseberry notes. Excellent combination of flavour: earthy, dusty roastiness together with gooseberry hops works very well. (0.33l draft at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen.)

nearbeer (5452) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 13, 2017
33 cl. looks to have been bottled 2016-05-10. Deep brown almost black pour with a creamy head. Aroma of molasses, cocoa and light coffee with maybe some hints of citrus and soy sauce. Flavors of espresso with cream, cocoa nibs, caramel, toasted nut and some green herbs prickling on the tastebuds. Almost medium body is smooth with low-medium carbonation and has a nice balance.

stevoj (5270) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 11, 2015
Tap at Bitter Phew. Killer black IPA, sweetness tempers the normal roast grain bitterness. Black pour with tons of lacing. Mild roast grain aroma leads into taste that is equal parts sweet and bitter. Pleasant lingering bitterness (burnt toast) and sweet (dark chocolate).
