COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bridge Road Brewers together with gypsy brewer Mikkel Borg Bjergsø of Mikkeller created a one off brew one Friday evening of March 2012. The result is The Dark Harvest. Inspired by the timing of the collaboration, it was decided to make a dark beer, using locally grown fresh hops. Of several research hops being grown at Rostrevor Hop Garden, one variety stood out for selection and was harvested just hours before being added to this beer.

A lot of everything. A bit of nut, some coffee, a tad of licorice, toast and malt. But none overpowers the other. Wonderful on palate. Like a lollie bag. A great dark beer that isn't too black. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Biggish brown head. Clear deep dark red body. Roasty chocolate and coffee aroma with gooseberry and wine grape notes. Dry roasty earthy chocolate taste with gooseberry notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry roasty coffee and earth aftertaste with long lingering resin and gooseberry notes. Excellent combination of flavour: earthy, dusty roastiness together with gooseberry hops works very well. (0.33l draft at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen.)

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2014 2012 Edition Pours pitch black with brown highlights and two fingers tan head. Aroma is orange hops, coffee and a bit of funk. Nice malty toasty flavor. Coffee, fruity chocolate, mild bitterness, and just a hint of marmite throughout. Good lacing and a smooth, viscous mouth feel. Pretty good. 2014 Edition Pours pitch black with a lively mocha head. Nose is lots of sweet tropical fruit (pineapple, guava), some coffee, plum, raisin. Flavor is bright, juicy, citrus hop flavors, lots of coffee, some burnt toast. The finish is reminiscent of dark, bitter chocolate. Really great
