COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Norwegian tradition alcoholic beverages are sent across the globe to benefit from the temperature variations one experiences when crossing the equator. This beer was brewed at Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth, Australia. Maturation took place in red wine barrels on its journey to Norway. Blending and packaging was carried out by Nøgne Ø.

Editor’s note: Brewed at Bridge Road, bottled at Nøgne Ø. Shipped to Norway in barrels previously used for red wine.

Bottle thanks to Ben. Pours cloudy hazel with a huge beige head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is vinous, roasty, tart, malty. Flavor is medium tart, very vinous and malty. Hmmm...

Bottle. Having tried the Nogne O version when it first came out and having it instantly become my favourite ever beer, I had high hopes for this. It didn’t disappoint! Massive red wine flavours mixed with the Borealis flavours I remembered. Brilliant quad, on par if not better than the Borealis. Thoroughly deserves its rating on this site!

Deep brown color, beige head. Dried fruit nose, vinous, wood, sour notes, dark chocolate. Sweet taste, oak, dried fruit, hints of coffee and chocolate. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture.

25cl bottle from Vinmonopolet somewhere in Oslo. A real gusher. Wasn’t quite prepared for that. Oaky and balsamic notes is noticeable already from the mess that came out the bottle before I managed to put a glass under. The rest pours slightly messy dark brown with an off-white to light beige head. Dark malty aroma with caramel, dark dried fruits, balsamic vinegar, oak and some vinous notes. Less sweet than expected and more sour and acidic notes than expected. Surprisingly easy to drink and somehow well balanced with the high alcohol content pretty well hidden. A bit to fizzy, but certainly pleasant stuff.

(bottle) pitch black colour with a frothy light-beige head. aroma of bretty funk, cherry stones, marzipan and dark chocolate, basically liquid black forest cake, with a touch of cornflakes, some brown sugar, banana and vanilla. flavour is mostly cherry juice and toasted malts, slightly ashy and quite sweet, with a hint of salted popcorn, dark fudge and a light-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. heavy-bodied with lively carbonation.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Stouty aroma. Starts strong malty, stouty, smoky-old, Background dry and bitter. Notes of chocolate and some lquorice. Finish warming-malty, still light sourish. Interesting beer.

Dry red wine with delicate sweet accents. Smell is incredible. Should be just a little more fill with malt body.
