COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The harvest has been hopped to the hilt using fresh hop cones straight from the nearby Rostrevor hop garden. The variety of hop is unique to the gardens research block. The variety was selected for "The harvest" due to its big orange and citrus aromas, with the fresh hop being added to the kettle as well as the conditioning tank. As for how the hop character translate into the beer, well open it and find out.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar. Hazy yellow coloured with a small white head. Fruity aroma of hops and citrus peel with notes of exotic fruits. Fruity flavour of hops, citrus peel, vanilla nd petroleum. Hoppy finish.

A-- Poured a cloudy honey yellow color, with a fluffy bright white head that settled to a one finger in height. Pretty obvious lively carbonation and a bit of lacing on the sides of the glass. Good head retention to the beer. S-- Sweet and spicy hops with a Belgian like biscuit malt smell. Has a fresh cut grass smell to this. Smells a lot like a NZ Sav Blanc. Grass smell becomes larger as it warms up. T-- Spicy hops first and the biscuit malt does kick in. Very lively carbonation again in this. A lot of grassy tones to this with, some lemon as well. M-- Lots of carbonation, already said that though. Very crisp and fresh tasting. Lot of lemon and fresh cut grass to this. Hop flavor is fairly reserved and does not hammer away at you like others in this style do. More of an acidic taste and feel. Just a bit of a pine feel at the very end, not big though. D-- . Heavy grassy tones and this carries it well. Needs a bigger grapefruit presence though as the lemon does become enough after a bit. Malt character is quite interesting and a good touch.

Pours a pale yellow with solid head, plenty of carbonation. Fruits on the nose such as passionfruit, lychee. Fairly tasty with plenty of flavour, with light bitterness and body. Easy to do down, was hoping for a little more but all up its a pretty solid beer and is certainly very sessionable.

ALLOVATE (3004) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 8, 2012
Produces a hazy, yellow gold with sparse and intermittent carbonation and a few sea monkeys floating about.Creamy, compact off white head is lasting and adds to the overall mouthfeel. There is a potent, swelling, all hop nose that is arguably seductive. Passionfruit, pineapple, lychee and pear, candied lemon and lime zest meld with notes of vine clippings, pine needles, peppery spice, eucalypt and citronella oil. Juicy, tangy mix of bitter and ripe citrus and tropical fruits dominate the palate. more pineapple, lychee, pear, etc., just a continuation of that wonderful bouquet. Quite foamy but firm; the body is relatively light and the carbonation just a prickle reserved for the tip of the tongue. Sun-drenched malt flavour shines through, giving balance. Not overly bitter in the tail; piney, light wood, subtly floral, but still all hops. This is a showcase glorifying our current hop industry and finally bringing Australia out of the dark ages of the dreaded Pride of Ringwood. These guys have produced a lip-smacking, bang-up, Friday night come Sunday session killer of a beer. And credit to them for keeping it below 5.0% ABV. Lovely stuff. Excellent !

The brewers have demonstrated in a beer exactly what it feels like to pick hops in the field Delicious!

330mL bottle 2012 harvest, pours a clear almost straw colour but the aroma is amazing.. smells like fresh cut grapefruit/mandarin/orange wow. Those aroma’s really flow through to the flavour and they all mingle well, very low level of pale malt flavour and this makes the hops shine! i see so much potential for this hop.

LesArgen (357) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 21, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2012 There’s a lot of sweet citrus on the nose, followed by very earthy notes (almost like a stale bag of chips) and then a lot of resin at the finish. All up, the aroma it’s a bit unpleasant for my taste. In the mouth there’s some orange flavour with a fairly restrained hop presence and more of that yeasty earthiness. There’s little of the hoppy bitterness you’d expect from a beer that bills itself as being hopped to the hilt, and it finishes a little short. 20 August 2012 - Had another bottle of this, not realising I’d had it before. I didn’t notice so much earthiness this time, and certainly no stale bag of chips, so I wonder if I got a bad bottle last time. That’s not to say I don’t get any yeast - certainly it’s still there. Other than that, the flavours were the same as last time. Still a little thin and short on the palate.

A citrus smelling beer with a lemon/lime feeling about it. Looks fine and had a good head. Really enjoyed and is a great summer session beer.
