Pours a really dark amber. Malty and chewy red ale. Nicely done. Fruity, malty, some Christmas spice and a balancing hop finish. Tasty.

Bouteille.

Bomber from Bottle Jockey in North Burnaby. Very dark with a tinge of red and moderate light tan head. I have a head cold, so I can’t get much nose on this one. Bitter, citrus and vinous notes combined with just enough malt and caramel to make this a winter seasonal ale. Well done! 3.8

Maroon body off white head some lacing. Aroma of malt, resin, pine, a touch of funk. Taste is rich malty with a dry bitter lasting finish and aftertaste. Nice.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, nearly black with a reddish hue, thick beige head. Aroma is very malty, burnt brown sugar with some sweet candy notes. Taste is caramel and brown sugar, very malty with slight bitterness. What I expected from the style.

Nice sweet aroma. Tasty almost peanuty grain profile. Flavorful. Dark red, chestnut colored beer.

Deep red color. Big aroma with toffee little bit of citrus and resin. Taste is sweet caramel maltiness. Nice hop finish. Creamy mouthfeel with a long lingering business. This is a really good beer

bulldogops (2885) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 25, 2016
Rating #2240 - 2015.12.10 - Bottle #10 in the 2015 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar Pours a bubbly ruby colour with a decent off white head that fades rapidly. Aroma is caramel toffee malt, sweet fruits, and sweet malty booze notes (oak, vanilla). Lots of similar flavours on the palate, lots of roast malt bitterness and another hit of booze defended by some solid Centennial bitterness.

A nice rich and hopped brew. Bitter and malty with tons of toffee, caramel and a nice hit of spice and a bit of light citrus hop. Mild pine and a pinch of cocoa and nuts. Nicely done.

Single 355 ml bottle from a leftover Christmas "Advent Calendar" sampler case from Sobeys Liquor, served in a nonic pint. Pours a moderately hazy, deep reddish-copper hue, very Christmasy, with moderate carbonation and a smooth head of well-retained tan foam, with generous lace. Toasted malts and grains, caramel, and fresh red fruits with a soft vinous and spiced character greet the nose. Flavor is moderately and very pleasantly dense, with liquor-soaked dark fruits and mulled citrus merging with toasty cereals, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. Moderately thick and creamy texture, with the flavors lingering briefly, and a soft warmth to fend off winter’s chill. A very merry and tasty treat for the holiday season; leave this out for the Santa in your life Christmas Eve, and he’ll/she’ll be extra-good to you, guaranteed.
