The chocolate is not very noticeable. The cherry flavor is subtle but natural. Overall a very good, heavy STOUT (not a Fruit Beer).
Bottle. Pours completely opaque brown-black with a generous, creamy, mixed-grained tan head. Nose is roast coffee, milk chocolate, dark cherries, and vanilla. Not as heavy on the palate as I expected; there’s definitely coffee, chocolate, and cherries, but there’s more cream and vanilla to lighten it up, and there’s a slight vegetal note that throws it off a bit. It’s also got a little white pepper spice to it, which I like. It’s unusual for a chocolate stout to stay bright; this one does. Finish is long and warm. I like it. Originally rated on 6/1/14. Poured a very dark brown color with reddish highlights. Head is very minimal and goes away almost instantly. Aromas are faint chocolate, soy sauce and booze. Flavor is of chocolate powder, faint malts, and cherries. The body is a bit too thin, and finishes dry. Overall it wasnt bad, the chocolate and cherries werent assertive enough to live up to the label. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 22, 2015
On tap @ Bridgeport. Just about black in color with khaki foam. Slightly buttery. A lot of tart cherry, some ash, and roasted malts. Maybe a little bit of coffee. Okay. The flavor is kind of on the acidic and tangy side, which isn’t necessarily surprising. Some mild sweetness, dark chocolate, and plenty of tart cherry. kaser (6312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 9, 2015
Crazy tart cherry taste on a stout. Almost too much. Had this poured in small glass from draft at the American Beer Classic 2015. Disappointkng rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 4, 2015
Draught at the Bridgeport Brewery Co, Portland, OR.
Black colour with a tiny tan head.
Roasted malt, sweetness, dark chocolate and dryness in the aroma.
The flavour is... fermented berries, chocolate, sourness and some roasted malt. Far from balanced.

Bottle, picked up a Costco a while back. Very dark brown pour, topped with a thick finger of creamy brown head. Looks great... Like a stout milkshake. Smells of milk chocolate and cherries, light roast. Toasty flavor with chocolate and faint fruit. Lightly metallic, but at least its not chalky. Body is a little on the thin side. Pours dark ruby brown, little tan head that is thin. Aroma is fudge and sweet cherries. Taste matches aroma, with hop bitterness towards the end. My main problem is that the mouthfeel is underwhelming. It is pretty thin. Good overall. TizzleJizzle (791) - Garland, Texas, USA - APR 13, 2015
Sampled from a bomber at the Big Texas Beer Fest. Poured a dark brown almost black with a tan head. Taste of cherries, cocoa and dark roasted malts. Balance is off leading to a weird taste. Average carbonation, full body DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - MAR 21, 2015
Tap, brown pour, tan head, nose and taste are chocolate, cherry, vanilla, rich mjg74 (3106) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 9, 2015
Bomber from Winco. Pretty much pitch black in color. Big cherry nose. Chocolate and sweet black licorice. Sweet anise up front, along with some black cherry flavor. Roasted coffee and chocolate. Tastes very much like a big sweet foreign stout.
