6 pack from PJ’s Market. It is almost impossible to screw up a coffee porter/stout. That is one of my mottoes. It seems that Brideport has decided to test my theory. This is one of the least remarkable coffee beers I’ve had, but it still manages to be drinkable simply because it does taste like coffee and a porter. The coffee character, while prominent in the aroma and flavor, is very thin and is akin to ripping open an instant coffee packet and putting it in a beer. The porter flavors are a little corny tasting, sort of like Yeungling porter. The finish is quick like vending machine coffee. I suppose my point remains validated though, as I can say this may be the most disappointing coffee porter or stout I’ve had, yet I could still easily drink it due to the fact that the general flavors are so pleasing. Let me reiterate this is no Bells Java Stout or Pisgah Valdez. highibus (821) - Vail, Arizona, USA - FEB 13, 2011
Pours deep black with rich creamy tan head. Huge aroma of coffee and burnt malt. Flavor is nice roasted malt with just a bit of the coffee flavor. Not too much but it is there. Nice beer. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 11, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours near black with a 2 finger thick mocha head that left spotty lacing. The nose is coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is big time coffee with some ash and dark chocolate. The finish kind of falls off pretty quick. Medium bodied. Pretty tasty brew but you better like coffee. Bottle from Whip In. Pours a very dark brown color with a white lasting head. Holy shit what an aroma! This is the most amazing coffee smell ever! Lovely coffee ground, dark chocolate and heavy malts. I can smell this all night! Flavor is bitter coffee and lasting notes that don’t disappoint. I am seriously in love with this beer, absolutely! Yes yes yes yes yes. Billie Jean is not my lover.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine - Pours a dark brown color with a one finger thick tan head. Faint lacing. Aroma is caramel malt and coffee. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, and a hint of veggies in the finish. Mouthfeel is very thin. Worth a try. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 5, 2011
Bottle pours deep brown with a khaki head. Aroma shows notes of chocolate, moderate roast, and coffee. Flavor shows the same with additiona notes of ash and green pepper. Overall body is moderate and creamy with a roasted finish. sandberglar (148) - Scottsdale, USA - FEB 1, 2011
Pours black with a small tan head, very distinct coffee/mocha aroma. Smooth, creamy full bodied mouth feel. Coffee flavor along with a burnt roasted malty chocolate finish. Best part about the beer was the texture and mouthfeel. Good beer though.
