just finished a string of coffee beers and this one was a few levels below the others... some roasted aroma; dark pour; roasted flavor but not coffee per se; some astringent at end. nothing to see here... hogan873 (451) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2011
Dark, nearly black body with a clinging tan head. Surprisingly light aroma resembling a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. The palate seems quite light to me, especially for a porter. It’s pretty smooth with some decent prickly carbonation. The brew starts relatively sweet and finishes appropriately bitter. Not bad. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 12, 2011
Deep brown and thick looking with a tan head which lasts. The aroma is weirdly green though roasty malts and that hint of coffee are noticeable. There is a hint of metal at the beginning of a mouthful, it’s all bout the finish. Long and roasty with plenty of harsh coffee bitterness. It has a milky teture but an odd tongue numbing prickle to the carbonation. I’m not sure it all sits perfectly together. Dixonian (1657) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAY 9, 2011
Near black pour with a tan head. Lots of roasted coffee aroma with some chocolate. Flavors of coffee and roasted malt - pretty good for what it is. llcooldave (1224) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Aroma, simply put, is fresh coffee. Black in the glass with a touch of red when held up to the light. Clean tasting porter... some roasted malt and coffee notes as well. No real detectable hops. Overall, it’s really good. a nice brew I expect to drink many more of.

Black in color. Tan-colored head with awesome lacing. The aroma smells like a fresh pot of coffee in the morning. It also consist of burning wood in a campfire. The taste is like drinking black coffee. It reminds me
of big sky brewery cowboy coffee porter. Low carbonation and very watery. I was not impressed with this beer but was not horrible. Beerdrinker79 (2218) - Idaho, USA - APR 23, 2011
12 oz. bottle- Pours almost black with a nice creamy tan head that dissipates in a minute or so, the aroma is coffee, roasted malts and creamy coffee. The taste is dark roasted malts, strong creamy coffee. Body is fairly thin, carbonation is medium, finish is watery but flavorful. Overall a good straight up coffee beer. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 22, 2011
Bottle served in a Guinness pint. Dark brown with amber hues and a short beige head. Nose of strong cold coffee and used coffee grounds. Light sweet flavor. Medium body, average carbonation, watery texture, and a roasty bitter coffee finish. nbondi (250) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 21, 2011
Pours dark metallic brown. Nearly opaque. Quickly dissipating tan head. Smells like coffee, some roasted nuts and vanilla extract. Seems a little forced. Fizzy and over-carbonated. Lots of dry coffee. Don’t taste much in the way of that sweet vanilla in the nose. Thin bodied. Not terrible, but not good. stabzmcgee (72) - Colorado, USA - APR 16, 2011
Aroma is that of dark black coffee. Appearance is deep black/brown with an eggshell brown head. Taste is almost like a burnt coffee. Only a slight tinge of that burnt coffee taste takes away from what could have been an amazing coffee porter.
