Funky aroma--like belly button. As tomatillos are to salsa, this Hop Czar is to beer. Whats weird is that it doesnt taste hoppy per se, but *green*. Weird beer.

Poured from bottle. Odd nose of grapefruit and citrus, but with an underpinning of acetone. Color is a brilliant, intense gold, but suffers from a head that disappears so quick it could be ducking a court summons. Flavor is hops-forward, but still with an unpleasant chemical undertone. Carbonation is strong and good for the type. I like their regular IPA better.

Pretty good, very drinkable for a double IPA. Not overpowering in any way. The most prominent feature is a mild grapefruit hop flavor. Some malts in the background. Medium bodied.

Havent had a bridgeport beer for years. Slightly hazy orange color with white head. Bridgeport must have the same yeast strain for all their beers. But it lends nicely to the aroma. Spicy and slightly piney. Flavor comes up deint bitter and nicely so. A bit of malt to balance it out. Hoppy and fruity yeast finish.

bottle. pours a deep orange with a nice 2 finger white head... light aromas of grapefruit, malts, some floral hops and more citrus with a weird malt character - would really like the aroma to stand out more... medium to full body with a deep malt backbone and a fresh floral bitterness... really nice throughout the mouth with a generous hop profile. deep bitter finish that lasts a good bit... this is a well balanced IPA, not quite a IIPA.... drinks easy, lots of hops and good malts... aroma could be better.

Pours hazy amber with a thin head. Very nice hoppy aroma a little musty in the aroma as well. Flavour is very hoppy and flaral great balance of flavours, delicate and delicious. This is a really great IPA.

A very hoppy, medium bodied IPA. High on bitterness with an aroma of toffee and grapefruit. The finish is great, but the aroma is kind of stale and flat toward the end.

Bottle - Amber in colour. Hoppy aroma with hints of grapefruit and toffee. Very hoppy taste with grapefruit and a lingering bitterness in the finish.

Bottled, pours clear gold/light amber with thick brown head, huge pine and candy/fruit hop aromas with slight sweet malt noted no sticky alcohol notes thats expected in a imperial version, overwhelming hop bitters up front And all the way through with some slight sweet malt and zero hot alcohol notes, the palate is what brings the beer down, medium body with appropriate carbonation, but 100% of palate is one note hop bitters that is akin to chewing on citrus pith, cant taste anything else and ruins anyhing that is ate/drank with this, bored after half a pint

Pours a clear Orange to Gold with a White/Off White head of decent stature. Tight to loose like a sink sponge. Eventually almost milk shake-like. Aroma of mandarin oranges, passionfruit (sweet) and grapefruit. At first it is like chewing on straw moving to a grassy presence with a strong bitter grapefruit finish. Quite bitter at the end actually.
