COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This listing is for 2010 and later releases.

This year’s Hop Harvest features fresh Centennial hops from third-generation, family-owned Goschie Farms in Silverton, Ore. Newly named brewmaster Jeff Edgerton and family recently drove to the farm with a utility trailer and burlap bags, and brought back 400 pounds of fresh Centennial hops. Within an hour, crews cut open the sacks and hops were blended with the base beer that had been prepared in advance and cooled to prevent cooking off the natural citrus and floral notes of the hops. Almost two weeks later, brewers lightly filtered the beer and filled kegs and 22-oz bottles with this farm-fresh brew.

Keg at the brewpub, PDX, 09/11/14. Very lightly hazed golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is earthy hops, mineral rinse, bitter citric peel, grapefruit. Taste comprises citric pith, grapefruit, bitter orange, light spice, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop spattering. Ok IPA.

2011. Hazy tan. The aroma is earthy, minty hop. Similar character on the palate. Not at all bright. Malts are indistinct, relatively boring. Not bright? How’d they do that?

Bomber (minus foil) from Whole Foods in Sacramento. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is floral, citrus and light stone fruit. Near med body. Flavor is a bit earthy, but mostly floral, citrus and light stone fruit. It’s bitter. There’s enough flavor to overcome the garlic bean bacon spread I just had. It’s a very down to "earth" beer.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange copper with a small off white head with spotty lacing. The aroma is floral hops and bubblegum. Medium mouthfeel with a dry hop with grapefruit and grass with a light bitter finish. A good IPA from Bridgeport.

Bomber poured a clear gold with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, grassiness and light grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, grapefruit and light grassiness with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Unlike more herbal fresh hop beers this one on draft tastes like orange juice. One dimensional and sweet but not terrible.

Tap at Haymarket. Very non-aggressive IPA - some floral hop but it’s far from bold. Decent enough but far from awesome.

marcus (10668) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 29, 2012
Bottle from City Beer. Pours cloudy amber with a disappearing off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied caramel malt flavor that is overwhelmed by dry hop bitterness. Not very balanced and a bit thin, but hopheads will probably like this one.

GABF 2011. Bright yellow gold with slight haze. Grassy fresh hop aroma, but also has a tone reminiscent of plastic. Nice smooth grassy hop flavor with mild floral and a small bit of citric hops. A little light on the body. Balanced though.
