Strong grassy/piney hop aroma, moderate fruitiness, and malt in the background. Hazy yellow-amber in color, wispy head but good lacing. Thin flavor, good balance of malt and hops, but both are weak. Moderate bitterness. Medium body. Decent IPA - great aroma, but the flavor is lacking.

Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - JAN 17, 2004
Cloudy amber color, small off white head that had a good lasting time and left a small amount of lace. The aroma was malty and fruity with a decent amount of hops showing as well. The taste was Light malt with a strong grapefruit and hop presence that had a strong citrus taste that managed to last quite awhile. The after taste was medium bitter with grapefruit and the finish is mild with a fruit pine taste. Not bad but this is a brew that i could leave behind due to the up front harsh hop presence. It's worth trying but i wouldn't go much beyond that.

this beer has a spicy taste with an orange and yellow color. small head. left a good overall impression.

Enjoyed that the cascade hops do not totally dominate this NW IPA. Another nice, though not spectacular, beer from one of my favorite breweries. This is one of the nicer looking IPAs, I think. Just right level of opaqueness compliments this brisk, citrus, hoppy brew...not too dry, not to bitter, but a fine IPA for sure.

Thanks to Sham for this bottle. Pours a nice golden color that is slightly hazy and with a nice snow-white frothy head. Great classic IPA aroma of sweet hops which have nice citrus notes. Finishes dry and slightly bitter with hops all over the flavor. Very fresh tasting with a smooth crisp body. Really balanced and drinkable. Great IPA! Good retention also.

Quite a bubbly beer with a nice golden color. The aroma is sweet fruit, some citrus, and hops. When drinking the carbonation stands out, accented by hop flavors and a hint of citrus. A little too much carbonation if you ask me but overall a very nice beer.

GEOBRAU (188) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - NOV 18, 2003
Bottle: Hoppy aroma, poured a rather large head. Malt complimented hops well. Clean finish. A good IPA yet it somehow lacked pizzaz. definately worth drinking but does not set itself apart from other IPA's.

Steib (613) - Queen Creek, Arizona, USA - NOV 2, 2003
Light golden color, nice citrus aroma. Has the typical bite of an IPA. Still a clean and refreshing beer. Good effort.

Reid (2648) - Salem, Oregon, USA - NOV 2, 2003
The beer pours a nice deep amaber almost orange color with a little haze. Small heads that quickly dissapates to leave a nice lace dow the glass.
Wonderful hoppy IPA aroma very well done..also smell fruit..apples maybe!
Very nice hoppy taste and not too dry ..this lingers wonderful..love this IPA.
The mouthfeel is just right for this style..just the correct carbonation..but smooth in places.
Amost exceptionally drinkable IPA..
