4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured into a wide flute glass. Deep red color with a thick, finger and half of tight dirty head. Really well put together.
Big malt nose, small lemon and grapefruit, banana at the end.
This is a bold taste. Lots of malt balanced with an equal large dose of hops. The bitterness wins out at the end with an uppercut to the tongue. It is a little unruly but worth it.
Smooth and creamy texture with low carbonation. Works really well.
A straightforward and bold flavor. Beautiful to look at. An enjoyable and different amber ale.
Pour is a deep copper orange with medium white head. Sweet citrus aroma. Medium syrupy body. Flavor is malty with sweet citrus and some toasted bread. Finish has lingering malt with the bitterness on the side of the tongue. Decent. Sarlacc83 (2287) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 23, 2017
A: Dark red bordering on brown. Creme color head. Lacing.
N: Pine, earth, peppercorn, ample grapefruit, rosemary, more herbs, very bready with rye being the most noticeable ’type’. Bit of toffee and caramel character under the very intense hopping.
T: Very bitter with a light sweetness and a good spiciness.
M: Medium-light body, very dry, no alcohol, biting carbonation
O: I can get behind this. Though not in any respect tamed or subtle, it has the kind of blast that goes pretty well with a social gathering. Dervock (1339) - AUSTRALIA - APR 20, 2017
Bottle - pours red with a small off white head. Aroma is bubblegum, sugar, caramel and bread. Taste is sweet with bit of hop floral finish. Bit light on taste. donandres (527) - Bayombong, PHILIPPINES - FEB 2, 2017
12 ounce bottle poured to wine glass
dark amber orange hue, very hazy, small tan foam that slowly goes away
not a lot of aroma for an imperial IPA
bitter, some sweetness
creamy, good carbonation, long follow through, bitter then tart aftertaste
very good beer, ok to repeat but not look for

I’ve been drinking beers and ales for over 48 years and I love my reds. This is worst red ale I’ve ever tasted. After one taste, I poured a 6 pack down the drain. I tried another Bridgeport product too and I will say I will never buy another, very disappointed.

Loads of biscuit, breadcrumbs, caramel and alcohol, plus a little apricot and grapefruit aroma. The taste is quite hoppy, with more biscuit and caramel. The alcohol makes it positively warm the throat, but the finish is marred by a metallic astringency. A shame, because it’s otherwise a lot of fun. crispaire (237) - - AUG 29, 2016
Draft pour on nitro. Normally the beers I’ve tried on nitro are better than their non-nitro versions, but not this time. It was incredibly smooth to drink, but it was to the point that it barely had any carbonation, so it tasted flat. Also in this particular version, while the malts showed through, you could barely taste any hops. bartzluke (598) - Oklahoma, USA - JUL 8, 2016
6oz pour from bottle into sniffer. Amber, opaque, moderate head. Medium, dry. Aromatic. Bitter, malty. Bold. Ngejo (979) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - JUN 10, 2016
Bottle. Clear, amber, frothy, tan foam, medium bitterness, light sweetness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, & long finish. oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2016
Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe coffee. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy as hell.
