COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
KINGPIN is a full-flavored, red-colored ale that uses a rarely-grown Willamette Valley Hop varietal known as Liberty Hops from fourth generation hop farmer John Annen of Annen Bros. Farm in Silverton, Oregon. Jeff and his team of brewers also used rye and caramel malt leading to a unique flavor profile; triple-hopped for bitter aroma and a unique dry-hopped character.

Ungstrup (37330) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2011
Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of fruits, malt, caramel, and English hops? The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, fruits, caramel, and spicy hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear amber with a rough, off-white head. Caramel and perfumy hops in the nose. Quite full-bodied, plenty of caramel and a fine and slightly herbal hoppiness while the finish is intensely bitter. Quite delicious. 220611

Bottle from QFC - Seattle (Ballard)
Beautiful dark amber color, hazy, with small head. Tere is some caramel aroma, but it’s too simple. The caramel flavor is quite good, a bit chewy; the hopping is medium strong, some fruity character (apricot) and mild resins.
Simple.

Keg at the brewpub, PDX, 09/11/14. Clear rich amber with a moderate off white covering that soon dissipates to a swirl. Nose is toffee, dark malts, sugars, spice, caramel. Taste comprises much the same, pretty one trick pony. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with lghtly warming alcohol. Ok, but for style and ABV not a lot doing, lacks depth and complexity.

Clear deep copper color, steady creamy beige head. Light fruity-berryish aroma. Suprisingly light body for this ABV and OG. Fullers-like nutty, snappy flavors. Caramel and some alcohol. Quite English, like UK style strong ale.

mcberko (17339) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 10, 2014
On tap at Bridgeport, pours a dark clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is full of dry bready malt with a little caramel. Flavour is really metallic and off-flavoured, with some skunky vegetal notes. Dry, but fairly vile flavoured. Not too good.

brokensail (16440) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 22, 2015
On tap @ Bridgeport. Clear light amber colored beer with a white head. A lot of caramel malts, bread, and sweet fruits. There’s a little bit of a perfume character to the nose. Very floral. The flavor is a little bitter on the back end, but it’s mostly sweet caramel and berry sort of esters. Pretty sweet and malty, which I guess is to be expected.
