Pours a hazy reddish amber with a short lived head. Aroma is dominated by hops with a little soapiness. Flavor is an excellent balance of floral hops and roasted malts. Very easy to drink. Would make a superb session beer...but watch out for the ABV! This would be great with spicy Indian or South American foods to mellow out the heat. Cheers! larryLSB (533) - La Selva Beach, California, USA - JUN 12, 2012
Bottle, 12 oz, poured into my favorite glass. Reddish amber in color with good sized off white head. Sweet malty nose, with a hint of citrus. Medium bodied, creamy taste. Good beer overall, maybe because it is a "double". cblado (298) - Washington, USA - JUL 7, 2012
12 oz bottle. Pours a reddish copper color. Thick pearly head, nice lacing. Aroma is sweet, with toffee tones. Flavor is sweet but not cloying. There is a rich hop flavor, but it’s not overpowering. Rather than a citrusy hop nose, the hops come in the aftertaste along with the toffee malt flavors. Overall, I enjoyed this quite a bit. I would definitely buy it again. I picked up as part of a M&M 6pk from Woodman’s in Sun Prairie late summer 2012.
Pours a reddish/orange color with a slight off-white head. Scent is mild with malts and slight hint of hops. Taste is bold with wheat, rye, and hops. After taste is slightly crisp and bitter. Drinks smooth but has a good grain taste that is hard to pass up. Made quite well!

Bottle. Triple hopped, double red sounds a little gimmicky, but coming from Bridgeport it was worth a taking a flyer on. Very attractive deep copper with about a half-finger of tan head that hangs around throughout. Superb lacing. Nose isn’t unpleasant but underwhelming for a triple hop. Taste is remarkably crisp and clean for a red and finishes with a nice little kick. One of my favorites of this style. The nicely cloaked 7.5% abv is a bonus.

Hazy cara-amber with a sticky lacy medium tan cap. Aroma is fruity with caramel, rye, toffee and citrus. Taste of toffee, caramel, fruit, citrus and finishes up moderately bitter. Malty with a nice hop zest. ComradeK (1256) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - APR 25, 2013
355ml bottle. Pours a hazy ruby chestnut, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well, and leaves decent lacing. Rich toffee malt mixes with pine resin and floral hops in the aroma. Strong pine needle and resin hops up front lead into bitter grapefruit. This is smoothed out by toffee malt in the mid-palate, with some nutty flavours coming through towards the finish, which has some resurgent grapefruit hops, and leaves a nicely bitter aftertaste. This is a nice, hoppy red ale, with a deft balance between potent hops and smooth, supple malt. Davhgbrew (948) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Deep amber/red moderate cloudy. Nice lacing. Sips full with slight caramel and hop flavor. Nicely balanced brew with a higher abv. Sneaky strong! twindadplus2 (732) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 14, 2015
Bottle, cloudy red amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma is creamy caramel malt and a bit of dark fruit. Taste is toffee malt up front and dark sugar up front and a light herbal bitterness. Medium to full bodied with a creamy palate and a long citrusy finish. It’s a good ale. donandres (615) - Makati, PHILIPPINES - FEB 2, 2017
12 ounce bottle poured to wine glass
dark amber orange hue, very hazy, small tan foam that slowly goes away
not a lot of aroma for an imperial IPA
bitter, some sweetness
creamy, good carbonation, long follow through, bitter then tart aftertaste
very good beer, ok to repeat but not look for
