This is No.13. Pours a dark amber with a thin tan head that recedes to an outer ring. Smells very nice. Got hints of pine resin, spruce and even some faint banana. Intense flavors. Bittersweet with a strong alcohol finish. banana, amber, clear, frothy, tan foam, Very bittersweet flavor. Intense. Starts sweet, then a sort of bitter fruit flavor. Strong alcohol finish. Thick feel with average carbonation. Definately a big beer with alot going on. jamidwyer99 (49) - Oregon, USA - JUN 1, 2000
Had the '97, '93, and '92, and to generalize, a little too cloying. But of course it's quality, coming from Bridgeport. jdchamp (34) - - JUN 7, 2015
This one stole my heart. While debating what to get next at a World of Beer, our server brought me this beauty - on sample. Great lingering taste and flavor. This is one to include if you?re in the mood for barleywines. My wife is taking it from me right now... JakeBrake (14) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - AUG 5, 2005
2003 bottle. This is a good one. Pours mahogany with almost no head. Predominately bready and raisiny nose. Flavor is rich and malty, nicely balanced by the hops, not too sweet, not overly rich but rich enough, very smooth, malty, and caramelly. Not overly complex, but it does what it does well. The alcohol is very well hidden. I’m curious to compare this with a more recent vintage to see how it has mellowed with time - I would guess it has improved with age. I’ll be stocking up on this one come wintertime. collinthib (8) - Salem, Oregon, USA - NOV 22, 2013 does not count
Eh- It looks like a barleywine. It’s a little alcohol forward both in aroma and in taste. The fruity esters here are a bit over the top. I initially got hints of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit-ish banana funky-ness. It’s an mediocre barleywine, but certainly not a homerun.

Remarkably deep flavor for a barley wine. It's more than just malt there's even some oaky flavors. The only downside is how hard it is to find.
