Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

amber pour with no head, kind of has an off flavor of bubble gum, weird and I am not entirely sure that I enjoy it

A little dissapointing in taste, but tolerable. Pours a clear bright amber colour with a small white head. aroma is nutty, with caramel, ginger and toffee flavors. Mouthfeel is pretty light. finishes weak and a little watery.

I keep searching to find a really great Amber Ale that I can call my own. I just discover that most beers in this style just don’t fit my taste and Ropewalk can be added to the list of dissapointments. Taste is coppery mettalic with a stale peanuts vibe. Overall, just a bland drink that falls flat in the character department.

Bottle: Amber colored pour with medium sized off white head. Caramel, citrus, nutty aroma with a sweet light fruity finish.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 A good session Amber Ale. A bit on the sweet side fairly low 4.5%abv. A Budweiser for adults. Nice color, aroma, minimal carbonation. The malts surely dominate this brew. A bit watery probably enhanced by the low carbonation. Little head, no lacings. Would be a good transition beer for friends that drink Bud.

1st Brewery 07-08 Beer Road Trip with Bikesandbeer, 12/30/07 @ The Brewpub. Pours red/amber with a bright white ring head. Nose is slightly malty. Taste of sweet malts. Not bad.

12oz bottle: aroma is pretty malty nothing special. pours a nice amber color with a slight off white head. flavor doesnt have as much carmel as i think a amber should have and is pretty pale. goes down pretty smooth but is more of a sipper. an alright beer but wouldnt get again. bridgeport brewin co. could really work on this beer.

darbish (115) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 22, 2007
Smells sweet, almost like a honey aroma. It pours fairly cloudy, and looks a little like apple cider. There is little or no head. The taste is pretty smooth, very fruity and sweet with hints of malt. The finish is pretty boring, and somewhat disappointing. It tastes good though, and is an easy drinking experience.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a thin head that diminished quickly to nothing. Overpowering malt on the nose. Fizzy palate and flavors sugary malt, and a mild citrus character. This one was hard for me to finish. I love bridgeport, but this is their worst brew.
