smell is of malt, some sweetness, rye, a touch of citrus, and hops.

12oz. single from Roths Vista Market in S.Salem.
Clear copper coloured ale with a nice sized, thick n’ frothy off white head.
Strange sickly aroma , like vomit diluted and mixed with soap. Not good.
Thankfully the flavour is better!, balanced, caramel malts, slightly toasted, some spicy rye and bitter dark chocolaty.
OK on the palate i liked the carbonation levels.
Not a bad beer but the aroma was just WRONG Shink (177) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Out of the bottle. Pours a golden amber color with a white creamy head. Smell is of rye malts and a little off is some small way. Taste is bitter and a little sour. Not the best beer I have ever had but not terrible. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Bottle... Poured copper/amber/reddish with white head. Lots of the spice, a bit unbalanced with an astringent character. Dark grains, bitter vegetal tones. Some hop earthy spice too.

This is one of the best Rye Ale’s I’ve ever had, and certainly the most distinctly flavored. I now absolutely know what the grain Rye tastes like.
