COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This rebellious Brigand is a dry bitter, blonde beer that re-ferments in the bottle. It used to be amber in colour; now it is pale blonde thanks to the use of pale malts and pils malt as well as unmalted wheat. Brigand tastes full in the mouth with a slightly malty aroma. It also has a slightly malty taste with accents of spices and hops. The hop bitterness comes through in the finish.

Ingredients: water, barley malt (Pale, Pilsener), unmalted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).

Bottle - high carbonation, pale yellow with good frothy thick white head. Gentle aroma - ok. Ting on tongue and in mouth. No great taste or strength - bit over powered by fizz.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a tulip glass. Clear golden, huge soapy white head, dissipating slowly, light lacing; aroma sweet malts, (Belgian) yeast, spicy notes, after a while light tangerine and banana notes; taste light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, light fruity, spicy and boozy notes; sweetbitter aftertaste, spicy notes, bit yeasty; full-bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation; smooth and warming, alcohol noticeable but in a modest way; a Belgian strong ale the way I like it.

Clear like apple juice. No head. Aroma is malt, a bit of cat urine, and stale bread. Sugary sweet. Extremely low carbonation. Also, I find the label unsettling.

Fro old tasting notes. Cloudy orange gold color. Bubbly white head. Fragrant, perfumy malt nose. Zesty malt flavor with a noticeable boozy character. Brief bittersweet malt finish. This ale packs a punch, but lacks finesse.

Note céréaliers agréable bien fait, sucrosite malts caramel discrète. Longueur correct. Carbonisation moyennes.

33cl 03/2019, BLsampler 2017-04. - Managed to avoid this for the better half of my drinking career, tramming past the garish blue bottle many times in that touristy beershop Ghent-Groentenmarkt. Now, along with many other hurdles, it’s catching up with me in exile. - - Decently viscous honeygolden pour with dense cappuccino cream head. Sugary aroma of metallic industrial honey, Frosty flakes, barley husk sulphurs, controlled additives. - Manages to taste like a Leffe Blond aspiring to Duvel, or Duvel giving up on its slim, self-respecting regime and landing at a corpulent, dulcet Leffe. Oddly, perversely, perniciously drinkable, as if 9% of ethanol are ether to a liver. - This beers seeks to imitate and target both these other iconic Blgian beers’ markets and ends up with a bloated, adjunct-laden bod and an empty soul. Professionally miscrafted at the highest level of expertise.
