Pours amber with medium creamy head. Yeasty fruity aroma with citrus notes. Sweet yeasty flavor with coriander and citrus notes. Good balanced tripel with a dry and warming alcohol finish. Strykzone (7357) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 2, 2008
Golden colored brew with an active bubbly white head. Aroma is delightfully fruity with yeast. As well as fruit the flavor offers spices and yeast. Green grapes also make an appearance. Feels like champaign in the mouth although there doesn’t seem to be a lot of carbonation in the body. Enjoyable and interesting. DenverLogan (1216) - LA, California, USA - JAN 1, 2008
Gold color; large head at first. Aroma of tropical fruit and medicine. Rich flavors of sweet amber malts, cocoa, honey, cough medicine, minerals. Bread, ginger, grain, mango rind, banana, and other flavors. I’ve tried this a few times recently and it’s not the smoothest of Belgian strong ales...rougher yeast profile than that of Unibrou, St. Bernardus or Allagash, for example. Draught at Malja, Kuopio. Copper color with small head. Biscuity malt, honey and tart fruity esters in the aroma. Tart fruity, bitter, yeasty and cidery flavor with honeyish malt and peppery hops in the background. Fairly dry and hard bitterness. vyvvy (6470) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - DEC 28, 2007
Pours clear golden with a frothy white head. The aroma has lots of crystal malt, excessive sweetness and musty yeast. Medium crisp body with a ton of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with pale malt, banana esters and metallic astringency. The finish has spices and unmasked astringency. This beer failed on many levels compared to what is out there for similar prices. Mediocre BSA.

On tap at BURPCASTLE!!! Yummy in my TUMMY! A delight of golden fizz and sweet Mrs. Butterworth’s syrupy goodness!! Love it BETTER than Duvel!! thegreenrooster (4402) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 15, 2007
Pour is a bright golden with a large white head. Aroma is of yeast and citrus fruit. Flavor is some yeast and vanilla with a lot of carbonation. Aftertaste is a little barnyard and mustyness. An ok beer, nothing great but this should be one to try. I would consider this a lighter version of Duval. GreatLibations (1854) - Last Supper, Arizona, USA - DEC 11, 2007
Pours pale gold with a good sized head that lasts. Superb lacing equiped with Champagne streamers. Aromas of a tropical bread basket. Medium nectar w/ ample rsidual effers. This tastes like a Tripel with a little more bread. Tropical breadbasket flavors weaved with a bit of vanilla and citrus. The finish is long with a mild sweetness that hangs in there like an open wound that you like to scratch. Bontus (800) - Flanders, BELGIUM - DEC 11, 2007
33cl Bottle. Pours golden with a thick white head. Smell is alcoholic and yeasty. Medium carbonation, citric aroma’s and again alcohol.
Lack of aroma’s and complexity, aftertaste is again alcohol.
Probably good for a strong headache.

Tasted 11/25/07. 330ml bottle. Filtered with a golden hue. White head. Cereal citrus aromas. Musty crisp and lively. Tingling with high effervescence and acidity. Grainy and tart. Apple flavors. Perfumy and cinnamon. Bitter grapefruit flavors. Moderate burn. Good but not great.
