A hoppy brown ale with a thick pillowy beige head and a perfumey aroma featuring lemon peel over a Cocoa maltiness.
The taste is cocoa paste and then a big punch of bitter floral yet fruity hops. Think a mild type Black IPA, is there such a thing as a Brown IPA?
Solid and I enjoy the medium body and smooth mouthfeel...

Orangey colored brew with a creamy head. Rich malts, nice blend of flavors, well balanced, interesting....I can taste the rye. Good hop aroma too, a unique beer I’d be happy to try again! daniele (10002) - ITALY - AUG 1, 2017

Keg at the bow bar. Pours deep amber, nose is cheesy, citrus, toffee, taste is juicy fruit, sweet, resinous. maekchu (4184) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUL 19, 2017
Can from Asahiya. Intriguing nose of pine, toffee, and light chocolate. Clear medium brown color. Very roasty initial flavor, some orange and pine. Gets a bit ashy in mid palate, along with a little chocolate. Long subtle bitter tracks. Medium body. Rich aroma and flavors, and feels higher in alc. than it is. AshtonMcCobb (7091) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 8, 2017
Can thanks to allmyvinyl.
Appearance - cloudy brown. Nice lacy head.
Nose - light nuts and light chocolate. Mostly dry malt.
Taste - burnt bread and light nuts.
Palate - close to medium bodied. Crunchy middle section and finish.
Overall - a bit challenging but good. Not a typical example of the style. allmyvinyl (11319) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 8, 2017
Can shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours hazy amber brown with a thick white head. Aromas of light chocolate, Nutella, bread crusts. Taste has more of the chocolate, faint rye spice. Depth of flavour very good. Scopey (16529) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2017
Can from Freshfields Market, Croydon. It pours deep brown with a thick off-white head. The aroma is toasty, cacao, bourbon biscuit, coffee grounds, toffee, citrus vibe and burnt pine. The taste is dry, bitter, toasty, earth, wood, charred pine, cacao, orange peel and spice with a lingering charred wood finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Malt seems to dominate this beer with the hops being a bit muddled. Ok, but no gamechanger.
