Half in the Brimmer Beer Box with Tim Malony. Clear, pale amber, medium white foam head, nice fresh lacing on the glass as with all their beers tried. The nose has a little bit of something chemically or rubbery but there’s also some nice fruit flavours of orange and lemon citrous, caramel malt, pine. It’s got a foot in the IPA camp. What would be known in the new world as a session IPA, but a golden ale to anyone else who knows about beer. Nice hoppy, citrous forward golden ale.

maekchu (3906) - Hirakata, JAPAN - OCT 22, 2014
Bottle from Sugaya. Light apple and citrus nose, with some overripe vegetables. Hazy medium straw color. Medium-strength pale malt, grass, bittering kicks in and leaves a small spicey notes in finish. Thin-medium body. The bittering hop doesn’t seem quite right for this type of malt.

Westkyoto77 (635) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 1, 2014
On tap as Arrows Ale at Bj League basketball game in Takamatsu. Fairly bland nose, some light citrus, the merest suggestion of hops. Body was decent, with everything mild and rounded, but the flavours seem much more muted than Brimmer's other beers. Not a bad one, just a gentle introduction to ale for the uninitiated perhaps.
