50 cl bottle. BBE 17.12.2013.
Pours hazy copper color with a large white head. Aroma of grassy hops, mild floral notes, goose berry bush and subtle pale malts. Flavor of goose berries, some citric fruits, mandarin mostly, grass and malts. Bitter fruity palate, quite refreshing actually. A slight metallic tones on the aftertaste ruin the show a bit though.

(Cask at Euston Tap, Euston, London, 24 Apr 2013) Pale amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, biscuits and leafy hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, tea, tropical fruit, crisp malt and a generous grassy bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Light body, quite dry. Refreshing, tasty and highly drinkable. Nice one.

Bottle. Hazy golden brown with a bubbly head. Aromas are gooseberry and white grape with caramel and brown sugar. Bready yeast with traces of autumnal pear. Spicy and floral with herbal notes. Flavours are sweet wheat with caramel and lemon. Light earthy apple with yeast and a peppery, dry finish. Not bad.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a very oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: A light, tasty Bitter with a good body for such a low ABV.

Soracchi Ace always tastes a little ’flabby’ to me, lacking the cut and zing of some hops, which is fine when you have other things to keep the palate occupied. In this case though the beer, while very drinkable and balanced, does seem rather dull. The elderflower notes dominate, to the detriment of anything else. This isn’t a disaster as such and this is a good session beer with it’s light body and booze content. Would do well at a BBQ on a summer’s day. Otherwise, it’s all a little middle-of-the-road.

That works for me. I quite like Sorachi ace. Soracchi. Chi. My chi. do you hwave chi? Does everyone have chi? Chicken? What is yours. I’d like chickens. Eggs. I like eggs. Current favourite is soft boiled. Why do I bother?
